Türkiye Included Among GSK's Priority R&D Countries in Pharmaceuticals

Turkey, which has been one of GSK's priority countries for vaccine clinical research for many years, will now become an important centre for pharmaceutical research following this new decision. Turkey, which ranks among the priority countries where GSK will invest in R&D activities (GSK Clinical Country Footprint), will henceforth be among the first countries evaluated for clinical studies planned in any therapeutic area. This will increase R&D investments in Turkey and create an important opportunity for patients to gain early access to new and effective treatment options. This development, which will enable physicians in Turkey to offer and gain experience with new treatment options to their patients, particularly in the fields of infectious diseases, oncology and haematology, will also make a significant contribution to investment and employment in clinical research in Turkey. Commenting on the matter, GSK Turkey Medical Director Elif Coşkunçay stated: "Turkey now ranks among GSK's priority countries in terms of clinical research investment. For many years we have been performing successful work as an important R&D hub in the vaccine field.
