Tat Gıda Holds Second "Digital Farm Day"

Tat Gıda shared digital agriculture applications and solutions at Digital Field Day, the second edition held this year under the "Tomato Leaders Programme," with Tat Gıda and its solution partners. Expert firms participating in the event provided farmers with information on solutions and technologies including field inspection with drones, plant health monitoring through satellite and image processing technologies, smart irrigation techniques, automatic steering, agricultural climate and early warning stations, digital soil analysis equipment, pest monitoring with camera-equipped pheromone traps, and tomato planting area detection and yield forecasting via satellite.

Hakan Turan, Deputy General Manager of Production at Tat Gıda:

"Our first priority is farmer development. In this area, we are conducting activities aimed at developing our farmers so they can farm to international standards. The aspect we place most emphasis on in this regard is farmer training. The second issue is farmer communication; we continue to strengthen our bonds by bringing our farmers together more frequently during and outside the season. Another important matter is digital transformation in agriculture. As Tat Gıda, we continue to lead in digitalization in agriculture through projects we carry out together with our solution partners. Starting this year, through the Tat Lider Çiftçi mobile application, which has been in use for two years, we will notify farmers in advance of advance payments and accrued payments. In addition to these, we will share field-based plant health analyses and expert agricultural engineer opinions with our farmers also through the Tat Lider Çiftçi mobile application. We believe this application will make communication between us and our farmers continuous and stronger. Our objective with today's Digital Field Day is to raise awareness across the entire sector about digital transformation in agriculture and to provide solutions to farmers." he said.
