In this year, as we celebrate our 25th year in Turkey, we created the 'Merck Turkey 25th Year Scholarship Fund' by cooperating with Turkish Education Foundation (TEV), one of Turkey's established foundations that has worked on the principle of equal opportunity in education for 56 years, through a partnership with TEV. Through this fund, we supported the education of 25 Medical Faculty students affected by the earthquake disaster we experienced at the beginning of the year." Pointing out that sustainability holds a very important place among Merck's fundamental business principles, Zayer stated, "In order to provide longer-term support to the earthquake zone, to stand by our earthquake-affected young people whose educational journeys are at risk of interruption, and to ensure the continuity of our scholarship, we contacted the Merck Family Foundation. Following our application, the Merck Family Foundation extended the scholarship periods of the students, enabling us to cover the education expenses of 25 Medical Faculty students throughout their undergraduate education. We will continue to contribute to society in our country and support youth education."Turkish Education Foundation (TEV) General Manager Banu Taşkın also continued her remarks, stating that they continue their efforts to help improve the adverse conditions experienced by many students from the earthquake zone and to respond to needs:
"As Turkish Education Foundation, from the very first day, we continue to work on the principle of equal opportunity, mobilizing all our resources so that the education, dreams, and futures of our scholarship holders affected by the earthquake and all our young people of school age do not remain incomplete." Noting that the support of brands such as Merck, with which they cooperate, is very valuable, Taşkın stated, "For foundations like us that continue our work with individual and corporate support, these supports being long-term and having a wide area of impact allows the resulting benefit to grow exponentially. These kinds of sustainable contributions that support our youth throughout their educational journey are of great importance, especially for our disaster-affected students to realize their potential and achieve their goals. We offer our endless gratitude to Merck for their valuable contributions to the training of our doctors, who are a source of pride for our country worldwide."Advertisement
