COSMOS-CERTIFIED NANO-MATERIAL-FREE MINERAL FILTERS FOR COSMETIC APPLICATIONS

ADPCosmetics offers two mineral filter series without nanomaterials as a solution to the high SPF (Sun Protection Factor), broad-spectrum protection and photo-stability challenges faced by sunscreens in the cosmetics sector. ADParticles uses a patented dry dispersion method based on the principle of particles of different sizes adhering to and dispersing among each other. The new structure enables an increase in SPF value in the finished product through the refraction of light by the smallest particles within the filter. These filters produced with innovative technology can be used in sunscreen products and color cosmetics with sun protection benefits. The Enhance U-T and Enhance U-S series, based on titanium dioxide and zinc oxide, achieve high SPF and provide broad-spectrum protection in natural formulations for sunscreen products. Enhance U-T and Enhance U-S series hold ECOCERT certification. For formulations without natural label claims, Effective U-T is offered as a supporting filter to enhance protection against the UVA range. In color cosmetics with sun protection benefits; ADParticles/ADPCosmetics offers three different filter options with varying shades depending on the iron oxide values in their structure. Enhance U-T-Light, Enhance U-T-Medium and Enhance U-T-Warm filters, where color combines with sun protection, are frequently recommended in BB and CC creams. Enhance U-T-Light, Enhance U-T-Medium and Enhance U-T-Warm filters hold ECOCERT certification. Additionally, custom production in different shades is possible with Enhance U-T-Exclusive. The table below contains the basic mineral structures of Enhance U and Effective U filters that are free of nanomaterials and photo-stable.

Effective U-T

Effective U-T is a mineral sunscreen filter with an inorganic composite structure containing TiO2 and SiO2 free of nanometric particles. When particle size is observed by Dynamic Light Scattering, it is confirmed that it contains no nano particles.

Effective U-T provides notable levels of UVA and UVB protection, as can be easily understood from the UVA/UVB ratio. In the UV absorption graph, a formulation containing 7.5% (w/w) filter shows SPF 9, UVA protection factor 6.6 and UVA/UVB ratio of 0.84 at critical wavelength 383 nm. (Figure 2.)

Analysis was performed on a spectrophotometer at 75 W power using a 125 W xenon lamp. (SPF-290S Analyzer System). Figure 3 shows SPF and UVA PF values at 5–12% w/w, the effective range of use for the filter. Furthermore, Effective U-T demonstrates high photostability. The SPF value of the sample irradiated with UV light under a solar simulator was measured.
