FELÇLİ HASTALAR İÇİN UMUT VERİCİ GELİŞME: "ŞİFACI ROBOTLAR" ARTIK TÜRKİYE’DE

In the past, when doctors said "You will never walk again," patients had limited options. However, thanks to robots integrated into physiotherapy, many people paralysed as a result of severe injury or illness are now able to walk again and start using their lost limbs.

THE FATE OF PARALYZED PEOPLE IS CHANGING
This robot-assisted treatment method, applied in only a few centers worldwide, is now available in Turkey. 'Healing robots' brought to the country by Neuroverse Clinic, a stroke and brain injury rehabilitation center, are being used at Acıbadem Taksim Hospital in Istanbul. With this treatment applied under the leadership of Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Çorum, the goal is for patients to regain their physical functions. Many domestic and foreign patients, including world-renowned figures, come to Turkey for treatment.
SPARE CELLS IN THE BRAIN OFFER HOPE
Although the idea of motorized walking machines emerged in the 1960s, the first approvals for robot use in physical therapy were granted approximately 15 years ago. Recent scientific research shows that the brain contains spare cells and these cells can learn new functions through a good rehabilitation program. Developed in line with this knowledge, robot-assisted treatment is applied not only to neurological diseases such as stroke, brain injury, multiple sclerosis (MS), Parkinson's disease, cerebral palsy and spina bifida, but also following orthopedic surgery.
