Drogsan İlaçları Publishes First Sustainability Report in Its 50th Year

Drogsan Pharmaceuticals, one of Turkey's leading pharmaceutical companies with 100% domestic capital, published its first sustainability report on the occasion of its 50th founding anniversary. The report shared environmental, social and economic performance for 2023, as well as future commitments and 2035 vision with the public.
Dr. Sabri Öncel, Deputy General Manager of Drogsan Pharmaceuticals and Chair of the Sustainability Committee, commented on the report as follows:
"In line with the 'Respect for Health' principle we have embraced since our founding and our sustainability strategy, we aim to both achieve our corporate goals and meet the expectations of all our stakeholders. Today we place sustainability at the heart of our strategy, creating value not only through our financial performance but also through our environmental and social contributions. This report will enable us to make a stronger start to our second 50 years."
Concrete Steps in Environmental Responsibility
Drogsan took significant steps against climate change and environmental risks in 2023:
The production facility obtained Zero Waste Certification.
Total greenhouse gas emissions were measured at 30,469 tons CO₂e.
A water footprint of 64,000 m³ was calculated and savings-focused projects were launched.
Feasibility studies for renewable energy investments were initiated.
Respect for People and Contribution to Society
Drogsan is taking ambitious steps on employee welfare, equal opportunity and social contribution. The percentage of women employees at the company reached 30%, the percentage of women managers reached 40%, and the percentage of senior women managers reached 54%. In the coming period, the company aims to become a signatory to the United Nations Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs) and to develop a formal Gender Equality Policy.
Key activities in the area of social contribution include:
Supporting TED's "10,000 Young Torches for a Brighter Turkey" campaign by providing scholarships to 10 medical faculty students,
Participation in the Istanbul Marathon with a corporate running team,
Sponsorship of Çubuk Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vocational School Robotics Team,
Projects aimed at individuals with special needs and health awareness.
2035 Vision
Within the scope of its 2035 targets, Drogsan aims to increase its share in local and global markets by further developing its strong production and R&D infrastructure, and to prioritize sustainable growth and social contribution. The company's strategic roadmap focuses on sustainability, technological innovation and qualified human resources.
