Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Management Program
Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Management Program
Cornell University's Jeb E. Brooks School of Public Policy announced the launch of its new Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Management Program. The program aims to develop future leaders in the rapidly evolving biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors.
The program seeks to introduce participants to the latest industry trends and advanced research, while enabling them to expand their networks through access to top university executives and renowned faculty members and peer collaboration.
Sean Nicholson, Director of the Brooks School Sloan Health Management Program, said "By drawing on the knowledge of practitioners, policymakers, and thought leaders, participants will gain real-world insights that can shape their strategies and help them achieve success in their organizations. Through this program, we will enable our best-performing students, who can drive advances across the sector, to better understand the changes and issues in these sectors."
This year's intensive program offers a live virtual course via eCornell between 21 August–25 September and a summit at Cornell Tech in New York City on 29-30 September. Participants can purchase virtual and in-person courses separately or attend both to maximize value from the program.
The summit at Cornell Tech will enable participants to interact with industry leaders and Cornell faculty members in small panel discussions on topics including payer perspectives, barriers and incentives for adoption, and diversity, equity and inclusion in clinical trials. Speakers include leading industry figures:
• Bob Langer, academic founder of Moderna
• Angela Hwang, President of Pfizer Biopharmaceutical Group
• Amy Mulderry, Chief Development Officer and CFO of Elevance Health
• Joydeep Ganguly, Senior Vice President at Gilead Sciences
• Arnaub Chatterjee, Head of Product and Solutions at TriNetX
• Paul Evans, President and CEO of Velocity Clinical Research
Through the online course, students will examine core management topics related to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors, assess corporate structures and drug commercialization, lifecycle management and marketing strategies, learn how companies set pricing and negotiate with insurance companies, and analyze mergers and acquisitions.
Nicholson will direct participants toward real-time discussions addressing current issues such as the role of biotechnology and genomics in transforming the sector, business regulation by government, and tensions around global product costs.
Individuals seeking to understand business, economic and policy issues affecting biopharmaceutical organizations can learn more about the Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Management Program.
