Abdi İbrahim earned the international Equal Pay certificate issued by the EQUAL-SALARY Foundation through practices that provide equal pay to female and male employees for work of equal or equivalent value. With this achievement, the company became the first in the Turkish pharmaceutical sector to hold this certificate.
Abdi İbrahim, the uninterrupted leader of the Turkish pharmaceutical sector for 24 years, crowned its understanding of pay equity and fairness with an international certificate. The company, which qualified to receive the Equal Pay certificate from the Switzerland-based EQUAL-SALARY Foundation, documented through independent audit procedures that it provides equal pay to female and male employees for work of equal or equivalent value.
With this certificate, Abdi İbrahim obtained the distinction of being the first company in the Turkish pharmaceutical sector to hold the Equal Pay certificate.
The Equal Pay certificate functions as an independent certification program that evaluates whether companies provide equal pay to female and male employees for work of equal or equivalent value in line with international standards. Within the scope of the process, remuneration and benefit data are comprehensively analyzed by independent audit organizations, while institutional policies and practices are evaluated according to international criteria.
Based on a human-centered management approach, Abdi İbrahim considers providing its employees with a fair, inclusive and equal-opportunity work environment among its priority objectives. The approach of providing equal pay to female and male employees for work of equal or equivalent value stands out as one of the fundamental elements of the company's corporate culture and sustainability vision.
Abdi İbrahim CEO Süha Taşpolatoğlu made the following statement regarding the certificate:
"We take great pride in being among the third organizations in Turkish business to qualify for the Equal Pay certificate issued by the EQUAL-SALARY Foundation and being the first company in Turkey's pharmaceutical sector to hold this certificate. As one of the country's largest employers, we view fair, inclusive and egalitarian working practices as an inseparable part of our corporate culture. We position equal pay for our female and male employees for work of equal or equivalent value among the fundamental principles of both our corporate culture and our sustainability strategy."
Taşpolatoğlu continued:
"As a company with a history spanning over 114 years, we find it highly valuable that the successes we have achieved through the joint efforts of our female and male employees are certified by an independent organization. While integrating the 10 principles of the United Nations Global Compact into our strategy and business processes, we treat equality, inclusivity and fairness as an integral part of this approach. The Equal Pay certification process once again demonstrated the importance of regularly measuring our practices, evaluating them transparently and continuously improving. In the coming period, we will continue to advance these standards further and serve as an example to our sector."
