Multifunctional Power

Dry and itchy skin is an indicator of an epidermis that cannot adequately protect itself. While age is an important factor in dry skin formation, environmental factors also have a significant impact. Factors such as air conditioning, air travel and severe weather conditions are all challenging and harmful to the skin. Sudden changes in weather conditions pose a major threat to the skin's biosensor function. Frequent exposure to detergents and chemicals makes it difficult for the skin to maintain its natural barrier, drying it out and reducing its moisture. In healthy skin, water loss is regulated by the stratum corneum, the outermost layer of the epidermis. As supported by numerous studies, PENTAVITIN® provides moisturization on the stratum corneum in the short, medium and long term and strengthens the skin barrier. The sensations of tightness, itching and burning caused by dry skin are replaced by a much more relaxed skin. The skin becomes soft and smooth, and ultimately the skin achieves a healthy appearance.

In Vitro Efficacy

PENTAVITIN® is a 100% natural raw material and is a molecule with a structure identical to the carbohydrate complex, which is a building block of the skin. The natural origin of the raw material is an important factor for consumers in their cosmetic product selection. PENTAVITIN® fully complies with plant-based natural raw material criteria. It holds Ecocert, Cosmos and Natrue certifications. Due to its unique composition being identical to the carbohydrate complex that is a building block of the skin, PENTAVITIN® adheres very well to the skin and thereby provides significant moisturization to the skin and scalp.

Unique Skin-Binding Mechanism

In vitro and in vivo studies explain PENTAVITIN®'s unique mechanism of binding to skin through binding to free amino groups of lysine in the skin's keratin tissue (G. Padberg; J.Soc. Cosmetic Chemists 23, 271-279, 1972). Thanks to this unique binding mechanism, PENTAVITIN® remains attached to the skin surface until dead skin cells naturally leave the epidermis and thus continues to moisturize the skin.

Gene Expression

DNA microarray analysis conducted on keratinocytes has demonstrated that PENTAVITIN® effectively stimulates important and key genes in skin barrier protection. PENTAVITIN® increases NMF (Natural Moisturizing Factor) and hyaluronic acid levels by affecting filaggrin and synthase-3 gene expression levels, thereby increasing the skin's moisturizing capacity. PENTAVITIN® increases loricrin gene expression level. By increasing acid sphingomyelinase gene expression level, it also triggers ceramide synthesis in the skin.

In Vivo Efficacy

This test demonstrated that PENTAVITIN® accumulates more moisture in the skin compared to glycerin.

In another in vivo study conducted using Nova DPM 9003, 5% PENTAVITIN® showed approximately 50% better performance compared to 5% glycerin on dry and normal skin following 14 days of use.

Following a 4-week clinical study, 1% PENTAVITIN® reduced skin dryness by 20% and maintained skin moisture at the same level for 72 hours following the last application.

It has been demonstrated that 1% PENTAVITIN® use improves and strengthens skin barrier function, as measured by identical TEWL (Transepidermal Water Loss) readings before and after tape stripping (20 times) applied to the skin following 28 days of use.

It has been demonstrated through TEWL (Transepidermal Water Loss) measurement that PENTAVITIN® strengthens the skin barrier in rinse-off products as well. It works to reduce irritation severity on sensitive skin and itchy scalp. The use of only 0.2% PENTAVITIN® strengthens the skin barrier within 3 days and shows its effect 24 hours sooner than the comparative product.

According to consumer panel test results, 1% PENTAVITIN® use over 2 weeks softened the skin by 50%, smoothed it and reduced the flaking appearance and itching caused by dry skin by 50%.
