Food safety, which encompasses both food hygiene and personal hygiene and is indispensable to the out-of-home consumption sector, has become a particularly vital issue during this period when communicable diseases are being combated. Unilever Food Solutions, which reaches one in two kitchens in the out-of-home consumption sector, has opened its "Trusted Hands" food safety training program, which has reached approximately 52,000 kitchen workers since 2016, to free public access based on this sensitivity.
Prepared in collaboration with the Food Safety Association and containing answers to frequently asked questions about communicable diseases, new content has also been added to the training module. The training can be accessed from www.guvenilireller.com web address using the "UFS" code.
Bora Usal, Marketing Director at Unilever Food Solutions, said: "COVID-19, declared a global pandemic by the World Health Organization, is affecting public health as well as social and economic life. "We guide our work with the motto 'Support, Inspire and Develop' and as Unilever Food Solutions, we are taking certain precautions to help us overcome this period we are going through collectively and strongly. First and foremost, we have taken comprehensive measures for the safety of our employees and production facilities. We have moved all our catering services and support services to online and virtual environments. However, as UFS we have another priority: to contribute to the healthy development of the out-of-home food sector and to be there for them when needed with our global knowledge and experience. For this reason, during this period when personal hygiene and food hygiene remain important as always, we have made our 'Trusted Hands' food safety training program, which has reached 52,000 kitchen workers since 2016, freely accessible," he said and continued: "We provide live chef support to the chefs who have given us a place in their kitchens through our website and answer their questions. We continue our work to share our food supply recommendations suitable for catering companies, package service recommendations for restaurants, and nutritional recipe suggestions for hospitals on our website. In addition to all these efforts, we have also added to our training module answers to questions that particularly kitchen workers and consumers are seeking answers to regarding health, answered with the expertise of the Food Safety Association. We hope that our training will create value during this difficult period we are going through," he said.Advertisement
