Another Investment from PepsiCo
PepsiCo, one of the world's largest food and beverage companies, continues its work in line with its pep+ strategy to contribute to creating a more livable world and a more sustainable food system.
Within this scope, PepsiCo, which aims to minimize carbon emissions at its Kocaeli Suadiye plant, has completed its investment in a new and environmentally responsible heat exchanger system and opened the investment with Ahmet Burak Dağlıoğlu, Head of the Presidential Investment Office.
PepsiCo, one of the world's largest food and beverage companies, continues to implement the end-to-end strategic transformation it launched last year within the framework of its pep+ strategy, while taking nature and the environment as its focus and continuing to take new steps towards a sustainable food system.
Focusing on growth and value creation with sustainability at its core, PepsiCo has taken another exemplary step in the sector by completing the installation of a new and environmentally responsible heat exchanger at its Kocaeli Suadiye plant.
With the heat exchanger investment and the dirty air control system, combustion efficiency will be increased and stack gas emissions will be minimized, thereby providing savings in natural gas and electricity consumption.
With the opening of the heat exchanger investment attended by Ahmet Burak Dağlıoğlu, Head of the Presidential Investment Office, the Suadiye Plant will save 3,000 MWh/year in natural gas consumption and 110 MWh/year in electricity consumption.
With the new heat exchanger installed in 7 days and fully completed in 16 days, greenhouse gas reduction will be 619 tons/year, while efficiency will increase by 9 percent compared to the previous version. With this investment, which provides total annual savings of USD 2.55 million, an important step has been taken towards combating climate change and achieving the 2040 Net Zero Emissions target.
Aiming for a circular and inclusive sustainable economy, PepsiCo continues its work towards a more sustainable life with its PepsiCo Positive strategy, which is shaped under three main pillars: Positive Agriculture, Positive Value Chain and Positive Choices.
