Nigella Global Supports Local Production

Nigella Global, which connects black cumin, one of Anatolia's miraculous plants, with 63 countries, will bring together local producers in 6 provinces under the "Heroes of Turkey" project, implemented by the Reliable Product Platform and supported by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, to support the sustainability of local production.
While three billion people cannot afford the costs of healthy nutrition, overweight and obesity continue to rise globally. By 2050, sustainable agriculture-food systems capable of feeding 10 billion people will be needed. In a period when agriculture and food carry such importance, the development of local production has become a necessity.
The Reliable Product Platform has been organizing the Reliable Product Summit for three years to ensure sustainable agriculture and bring together domestic producers and buyers, while also implementing related projects. In this context, under the "Producing Turkey" project launched last year, 900 producers in the earthquake-affected region came together with 30 buyers such as Hepsiburada, Carrefour and Migros, resulting in 200 commercial agreements being signed.
At the 3rd Reliable Product Summit held on Tuesday, 8 October, the protocol for the "Heroes of Turkey" project, which is a continuation of the "Producing Turkey" project, was signed. Under the project, 6 provinces, primarily in Central Anatolia and the Black Sea region, will be supported. Starting with producers in Rize, Trabzon, Konya, Eskişehir and Nevşehir as initially determined provinces, meetings will begin in December and continue throughout 2025. The institutions that signed the protocol will meet with producers and provide solutions tailored to producers' needs.
The project is supported by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. Nigella Group Founder and Board Chair Fatih Eke, who signed the protocol, stated: "We believe in the power of agriculture and production. Because we believe in it, we are building our brand on these issues and bringing thousands of years of miracles from Anatolia to the world. As domestic production is supported, our brand's power to introduce itself to the world grows. Through the Reliable Product Platform, we find the opportunity to have direct contact with our local, boutique producers and work hand in hand with them to achieve important stages in product development."
The signatories of the joint protocol supporting the "Heroes of Turkey" project implemented by the Reliable Product Platform are: Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Prof.Dr.Ahmet Gümen, Hepsiburada Category Group Vice Chair Yalkın Tütüncüoğlu, Oğuz Holding CEO Enes Örer, Turkey İş Bankası Agricultural Banking Marketing Division Manager Zafer Arslan, Istanbul Chamber of Commerce Board Vice Chair Ahmet Özer, Mutlu Makarna Board Chair Aykut Göymen, Yayla Agro Corporate Communications Director Nuray Erdoğan, Onur Market Board Chair Cemal Özen, Nigella Group Founder and Board Chair Fatih Eke and İSTİB Board Chair Ali Kopuz.
