KMÜ and Döhler Gıda San. A.Ş. Sign Cooperation Agreement

A cooperation protocol was signed between Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University (KMÜ) and Döhler Gıda San. A.Ş. under university-industry collaboration.

The protocol was signed at a ceremony held at the Rectorate by KMÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Namık Ak and Döhler Factory Director Mustafa Topuz. Following the signing of the protocol, Rector Ak stated that they were pleased to have implemented another project under university-industry cooperation. Ak noted that through the protocol signed with Döhler Gıda San. A.Ş. to contribute to the region's economic infrastructure, they would combine the university's scientific foundation with the company's experience and sectoral contribution to accomplish significant work, and he wished the protocol success on this occasion. Through the protocol, cooperation between KMÜ—a Specialized University in Precision Agriculture Applications and Innovative Processing Technologies—and Döhler Gıda San. A.Ş. is aimed to be established, developed and implemented in the areas of infrastructure, personnel, training, research and development (R&D), consultancy, project management, laboratory services, on-the-job and internship training, renewable energy sources, biogas plants, production of heat, energy and organic fertilizer from apple and other fruit waste, apple cultivation, maintenance and harvesting.

Aim is to maximize regional development

Valid for a three-year period, the protocol aims to maximize the region's economic development. Under this protocol, KMÜ can utilize the company's infrastructure and, when necessary, its technical personnel, while Döhler Gıda can utilize KMÜ's R&D, information technologies, in-service training support, technical staff, equipment and infrastructure resources. Additionally, personnel employed in the company's units who have completed undergraduate education will be able to benefit from KMÜ's career development programs and postgraduate courses and applications. Personnel working in chemistry, biology, food sciences and technologies at KMÜ, as well as students studying in these fields, will be able to receive theoretical and applied training from expert personnel working at the company. Besides all this, R&D activities that will add value to food sector production, help solve sectoral problems and accelerate development will be jointly conducted by both parties.
