Kervan Gıda General Manager Burhan Başar stated they were confident their 2020 performance would yield such a result, and that despite expectations, being included on Turkey's list of the first 500 industrial enterprises created great excitement for all company employees and stakeholders.
Başar said that with this momentum, they planned for 2021 to be a year in which all strategic objectives were achieved.
2020 performance drove entry into the top 500
Kervan Gıda's consolidated sales revenue exceeded TRY 1 billion in 2020. This figure corresponded to approximately 47% growth compared to the previous year. The company's exports during the same period reached USD 86 million on a dollar basis. This figure represented a 59.7% share of total sales. Ranking eighth globally in its category by revenue, Kervan Gıda's medium-term objective is to establish itself among the world's top five soft confectionery producers.Public offering accelerated international investments
In December 2020, Kervan Gıda completed its public offering process with great success, entering the portfolios of approximately 270,000 investors. The company aimed to direct 55% of public offering proceeds toward global market investments. In line with these objectives, Kervan Gıda acquired a majority stake in ZPC Otmuchów, a leading Polish soft confectionery producer, and its subsidiary PWC Odra. Through this acquisition, the company increased its annual production capacity from 72,300 tons by approximately 52%. Burhan Başar noted that this move brought advantages such as benefiting from European Union tax incentives through a production facility in Europe, diversifying income sources, and increasing global brand awareness. He stated that they planned to capture significant regional synergies in soft confectionery production and sales through ZPC Otmuchów and PWC Odra's production capacity, distribution channels, and existing customer portfolio."We will expand our value-adding production model globally"
Burhan Başar emphasized that being among Turkey's first 500 manufacturers held value beyond production capacity, revenue, or export figures, stating that operating a business that adds value to human life was among Kervan Gıda's priorities. Başar said: "We work every day toward greater goals with a mindset of serving the public, aiming to be an innovative food company that provides products consumers can safely consume. Our Research and Development Center, which has been operating intensively since 2018, carries out numerous pioneering initiatives such as functional, vegan, reduced-sugar, prebiotic, vitamin C-enriched, and multivitamin products."
