An Event Will Be Held to Restructure the Food System
The Barilla Center for Food & Nutrition (BCFN), established to analyze issues related to food and nutrition globally, will organize a major event in collaboration with Food Tank, a non-profit organization created to improve food systems. The event titled "Redesigning the Food System Farm to Fork: Towards the 2021 United Nations Food Systems Summit" will take place online on 1 December 2020 between 16:00 – 19:00.
The event, which will feature food experts from around the world as speakers, will discuss the critical role of humanity in redesigning the food system within the framework of human needs and planetary sustainability, covering topics such as ending hunger, improving health conditions, ensuring livelihood sustainability and environmental protection. Discussions focusing on various topics such as food and agricultural technologies, the use of food as medicine for therapeutic purposes, and the European Union's "Farm to Fork" strategy will shed light on the 2021 UN Food Systems Summit. The event, in which topics such as farmer practices, European agricultural activities, the future of the food sector post-COVID-19, the new food economy, the intersection of food and technology, and future food systems will be discussed in sessions with the participation of 38 speakers, can be followed live via Zoom.
