Food Innovation Awards Presented

Food Innovation Awards Distributed Innovative products evaluated across 29 different categories in the Food Innovation Competition have received their awards. At an event organized by the Food, Beverage and Agricultural Policies Research Center, which aims to contribute to food innovation and ecosystem development in Turkey, products were presented across 29 different categories. These products were voted on by 68 independent jury members with certified expertise in their respective fields, and awards were presented to the winners.

"BEE'O Propolis-based Anti-Aging Cream with Bee Venom Wins Most Innovative Bee Product Award"

The Anti-Aging Cream with Bee Venom from BEEO, Turkey's award-winning innovation Anatolian Propolis, won the "Most Innovative Bee Product" award. Dr. Aslı Elif Tanuğur Samancı, Founder of the Propolis brand, stated: "We are very happy and proud to receive this award in the most innovative bee product category. Our aim is to bring our consumers 100 percent natural, domestic, innovative and value-added bee products produced from bee products that nature offers us, rather than chemical-containing, non-natural products." Samancı stated that through their contractual model implemented with 5,000 contracted beekeepers and 550,000 colonies, they provide "Fair Trade" by guaranteeing to each beekeeper a fixed price for the products they produce. She explained that they collect propolis from contracted beekeepers and transform it into innovative value-added new products through the R&D method they developed at Istanbul Technical University BEE Technopark. "Other Awards Found Their Winners" Yayla Çorba, a nutritious and practical main meal that can be prepared in 2 minutes and contains no trans fat, preservatives or food coloring, was recognized in the most innovative ready meal category, while Nilky Almond Milk Sahlep, low in calories, lactose-free and rich in vitamins and minerals, was recognized in the most innovative vegan/vegetarian product category.
