Balparmak Beekeeping Academy Trains Prospective Beekeepers

Balparmak's Beekeeping Academy, established with the goal of contributing to the sustainability of beekeeping by recruiting women and young people into the profession and promoting the production of quality, efficient, value-added bee products, provided training to aspiring beekeepers from Bodrum for the second time. In the previous training, Balparmak introduced 17 beekeepers to the profession, and in the new training cycle conducted in cooperation with Bodrum Public Education Center and Bodrum Chamber of Agriculture, 24 aspiring beekeepers participated. Balparmak's training programs, aimed at promoting the production of quality and efficient natural honey, pollen, propolis, royal jelly and other value-added bee products, and contributing to the sustainability of beekeeping by recruiting women and young people into the profession, continue across Turkey through important educational partnerships. Within this framework, Balparmak aims to reach more beekeepers through continuous new partnerships and, in cooperation with Bodrum Public Education Center and Bodrum Chamber of Agriculture, is conducting training for aspiring beekeepers for the second time. Through these important partnerships, Balparmak continues to support aspiring beekeepers from Bodrum with sustainable beekeeping training. The training, which began on 7 June and lasted for 9 days, updated the knowledge of existing beekeepers while recruiting new beekeepers into the profession.

The 24 aspiring beekeepers who successfully completed the training will receive a training participation certificate from the Honey and Other Bee Products Healthy Lifestyle Platform (BALDER), and will also receive professional certificates approved by the Ministry of National Education (MEB) from Bodrum Public Education Center.

In the theoretical and practical training provided by Balparmak Beekeeping Academy Education Specialist Dr. Ali İhsan Öztürk, aspiring beekeepers are provided with information on improving and developing the production of bee products such as natural honey, royal jelly, pollen and propolis throughout all processes from hive to table; continuing production under healthy and hygienic conditions through technical beekeeping practices, and conducting additive-free and residue-free production.  

Balparmak Raw Materials Supply Director İsfendiyar Üzümcü, highlighting that Balparmak Beekeeping Academy met with aspiring beekeepers from Bodrum for the second time, said: "Turkey has great potential for beekeeping in terms of climate, rich vegetation and genetic diversity of the honey bee population. We want to make use of this potential through Balparmak Beekeeping Academy and add value to our country and beekeeping.

For this purpose, we meet with beekeepers and aspiring beekeepers in different regions of Turkey and support them in pursuing this profession efficiently. In April, within the scope of the cooperation we conducted with the Public Education Center and the Bodrum Chamber of Agriculture Presidency, we introduced 17 beekeepers to the profession in a training program. Now, within the same cooperation framework, we have 24 new aspiring beekeepers to introduce to the profession. Aspiring beekeepers who learn harvesting techniques for bee products in these trainings will increase their diversity and income with value-added products. Our trainings will continue in different provinces in the coming days," he said.
