ICIS Innovation Awards Find Their Winners
Evonik has won this year's ICIS Innovation Award with REWOFERM® RL 100, a sustainable rhamnolipid product that has revolutionized the laundry detergent market.
This prestigious award recognises companies that demonstrate high levels of innovation in products and processes as well as digital innovation, while also delivering environmental benefits and advancing on the sustainability path.
A jury comprising sponsor companies BASF, Accenture, Barentz and Deloitte Consulting, as well as institutions NNFCC and ICIS, reviewed over 75 entries across six innovation categories.
The winners list is as follows:
• Large Company Best Digital Innovation: Fluid Genius from Eastman Chemical – digital innovation for heat transfer fluid management. • Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise (SME) Best Digital Innovation: Electric Ant Lab – digital R&D solution complementing wet laboratory research. • Large Company Best Process Innovation: Clariant Catalysts and Technip Energies – reducing carbon footprint with EARTH® and improving steam reforming operations. • SME Best Process Innovation: GreeNovel – a process for recycling contaminated plastics and extracting metals from e-waste using an advanced chemical agent and microwaves. • Large Company Best Product Innovation: Evonik Operations – REWOFERM® RL 100, this sustainable product is revolutionising the laundry detergent market. • SME Best Product Innovation: Genomatica – new plant-based nylon-6 work rapidly progressing toward commercialisation for reducing greenhouse gases in textiles, film and plastics. Will Beacham, Deputy Editor of ICIS Chemistry Business and chair of the jury, said: "With a turbulent global economy and the zero-carbon agenda front and centre, innovation has become even more critical as a way to safeguard the planet, and the ICIS Innovation Awards allow us to celebrate the industry's contribution to a sustainable future."
