Kocaeli Chamber of Industry Awards Sustainability Prize to Systemair Türkiye

Systemair Turkey, which provides solutions best suited to the needs of the air conditioning and ventilation sector through its innovative technologies while maintaining an environmentally conscious policy, was recognized with the "Large-Scale Enterprise Category Machinery Sector Environmental Award" at the Şahabettin Bilgisu Environmental Awards organization, held for the 30th time this year by the Kocaeli Chamber of Industry. Continuing its work with the mission of providing fresh air to living spaces, Systemair Turkey won the "Large-Scale Enterprise Category Machinery Sector Environmental Award" at the "Şahabettin Bilgisu Environmental Awards" organization, which has been held for 30 years by the Kocaeli Chamber of Industry. At the ceremony held in Kocaeli with the participation of Turkish Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Minister Mehmet Özhaseki, Ayşegül Eroğlu, Deputy General Manager of Systemair Turkey, received the award on behalf of Systemair Turkey from Kocaeli Metropolitan Mayor Tahir Büyükakın. Systemair Turkey earned the award in line with energy conservation projects, efficient equipment use, LED lighting automation systems, solar power generation project, LEED Gold Certification, zero waste, product life cycle assessment, rainwater harvesting and water reduction efforts, waste reduction, reduction of paper and plastic packaging waste, emissions and carbon emission reduction efforts, carbon footprint verification, sustainability report and environmentally themed corporate social responsibility initiatives.

Industrial competitiveness hinges on "sustainability"

Sharing her thoughts on the award won following the organization, Systemair Turkey Deputy General Manager Ayşegül Eroğlu said, "In our world where the effects of global warming are felt increasingly with each passing day, all industrial enterprises and especially companies in the air conditioning sector have important responsibilities. In this context, winning the Large-Scale Enterprise Category Machinery Sector Environmental Award in this organization open to companies from across Turkey both made us happy and motivated us for future years. As a company that has made sustainability one of the core values of its vision, we will continue our work in this area without slowing down. As also noted here this evening, only one out of four companies in our country calculates carbon footprint. We, as Systemair Turkey, in our capacity as a leading company in the air conditioning and ventilation sector, have been calculating our carbon footprint for a long time and conducting life cycle assessments for our products. However, in order to make all these efforts more meaningful, we believe that all industrial enterprises need to increase their work on environment and sustainability and adopt a holistic approach. We believe that the Şahabettin Bilgisu Environmental Awards create important value for our country toward this goal. As you know, Kocaeli is an industrial giant city; approximately 19 percent of our country's foreign trade takes place in Kocaeli. As Systemair, we take pride in contributing to the production capacity of this valuable city and exporting the products we manufacture to different geographies around the world. Shortly before this, the Machinery Specialization Organized Industrial Zone, which includes our new generation facility, received the title of Kocaeli's first green OIZ and obtained the Green Organized Industrial Zone Certificate. We thank all environmentally conscious companies that, together with us, contributed to obtaining this certificate," she said.
