Enerjisa Enerji and Sabancı University sign cooperation agreement
Enerjisa Enerji and Sabancı Üniversitesi collaborated under the 'İşimin Enerjisi' project to implement sustainable campus practices. Within the project scope, Enerjisa Enerji installed a solar power plant (SPP) at Sabancı Üniversitesi using more than 2,000 panels to meet the university's self-consumption needs.
Under the collaboration between Enerjisa Enerji and Sabancı Üniversitesi, a solar power plant (SPP) with more than 2,000 panels was installed at Sabancı Üniversitesi. According to statements made, the facility is expected to generate approximately 1,450 megawatt-hours of clean energy annually. The statement noted that the university will achieve energy consumption savings, reduce carbon emissions, and promote renewable energy use. The statement also conveyed that the project will prevent more than 945 tons of carbon emissions annually.
Expected to generate an average of 34,000 megawatt-hours of renewable energy over 25 years
In addition to the installation and operation of the plants, Enerjisa Enerji will provide maintenance, repair, and continuous monitoring services throughout the contract period to ensure the facility operates at high performance. In the statement issued, it was noted that 'with the cogeneration plant, an energy efficiency application previously commissioned on the same campus, and Eşarj electric vehicle charging stations, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Enerjisa Enerji, the transition to renewable energy will be accelerated through end-to-end solutions focused on sustainability and savings.' The statement also indicated that the SPP project is expected to generate an average of 34,000 megawatt-hours of renewable energy over a 25-year period, and that the solar plants installed on nine different rooftops will support the university's annual energy consumption. Enerjisa Enerji Chief Executive Officer Murat Pınar, whose views were included, stated that they are working determinedly to achieve company targets on the sustainability journey, make a difference, and serve as an example to society. Pınar said, 'As Enerjisa Enerji, we are strengthening our renewable energy technology investments day by day, and it is clear that in the future, a large portion of electricity will be produced from renewable energy sources. By taking responsibility in the fight against climate change, we have brought our sustainability approach and holistic perspective to the bright future of our country and university campuses along this path we have embarked on for a 'Better Future' through our collaboration with Sabancı Üniversitesi. Our cooperation with Sabancı Üniversitesi is gratifying for all of us as it contributes to our sustainability goals. I thank all colleagues who contributed to this project.'"We will continue to take determined steps toward achieving the 'net-zero' target"
Sabancı Üniversitesi Rector Prof. Dr. Yusuf Leblebici emphasized that the university values the contribution of scientific research to society and the economy, stating, 'We hope that this power plant installed on the roofs of a significant portion of our campus buildings in collaboration with Enerjisa Enerji will serve as an example for similar projects. In the coming years, we will continue to take determined steps toward ensuring that a significant portion of our campus's energy needs are met from sustainable sources and toward achieving the 'net-zero' target. Our students and all employees will take pride in working on a campus that leads in the field of sustainable energy,' he stated. SourceAdvertisement
