The leading aerated concrete company Türk Ytong is setting a first in the sector by redesigning its iconic product packaging with works by artists, transforming the city into an exhibition space.
Türk Ytong Board Chairman Fethi Hinginar stated that they are proud to contribute to urban life by combining respect for contemporary living, architectural culture, the environment and nature with art on the occasion of both the 100th anniversary of the Turkish Republic and Türk Ytong's 60th anniversary.
Türk Ytong, which supplies innovative materials and services to the construction sector in Turkey, is adding another achievement to its contributions to urbanization, contemporary and quality construction.
On its 60th anniversary, Türk Ytong is setting yet another first in its sector by transforming its iconic yellow-colored product packaging—recognized and loved by all—into works of art through the touch of talented young artists. Starting in November, the packaging distributed across many cities, particularly Istanbul, is turning construction sites into open art galleries.
The yellow Ytong packaging featuring works by artists Burak Beceren, Meltem Şahin and Piknik Works enriches every location where they are found by combining the aesthetics and creativity of art with urban life.
From Construction Site to Exhibition Hall
The 'The Yellow Trail' project, the latest example of Türk Ytong's work adding value to both sector stakeholders and construction culture as market leader, consists of two phases. In the first phase, "The Yellow Trail" begins with three creative artists' works being printed on Ytong's iconic yellow packaging. As the packaging containing the designs is distributed to construction sites, art spreads throughout the city.Beyond Creating Spaces: The Yellow Trail
The inspiration for the values that Ytong brings to living spaces is addressed by three creative names through the concept and design platform Mercado. The concepts represented by Ytong—the building block of spaces that enable individuals to connect with life and each other beyond being merely a building material—come to life through the work of artists Burak Beceren, Meltem Şahin and Piknik Works. "The Yellow Trail," which visualizes six fundamental values that Ytong adds to living spaces—"durable," "safe," "lightweight," "harmonious," "environmentally friendly," "warm"—grounds these layers across the axes of city, architecture and art. Burak Beceren creates visual rhythm that is durable and secure through repeating sequences in his drawings; Meltem Şahin interprets data specific to humans and nature through emotions, maintaining the environmentally friendly and warm themes; Piknik Works, pursuing a lightweight and harmonious narrative, practices an entertaining universe between space and drawing, examining in this work the transformation of a space into areas of accumulated meaning. The art journey beginning on iconic Ytong packaging meets people in Türk Ytong factories, in the cities where Ytong products are distributed, in the vehicles carrying the products, and in construction sites where Ytong products are used.We are proud to contribute to urban life in Turkey's 100th anniversary year
Türk Ytong Board Chairman Fethi Hinginar shared that they experience pride in the fact that Türk Ytong, founded 60 years ago under the leadership of Bülent Demiren with great ideals, sacrifice and faith, is today the world's largest Ytong producer. Noting that 2023 has another very special significance for them, Hinginar stated that Türk Ytong's 60th anniversary holds much deeper meaning and importance when coinciding with Turkey's 100th anniversary. He conveyed that they wanted to undertake a very special project due to these two important anniversaries occurring together. Fethi Hinginar emphasized that their brand, which has an unwavering and reliable perception worldwide with its superior quality, innovative and unique products, is setting another first in Turkey on its 60th anniversary. He said they are proud to contribute to urban life on the occasion of the Turkish Republic's 100th anniversary by combining respect for contemporary living, architectural culture, the environment and nature with art.The result of over a year of meticulous and careful work
