Nippon Paint - Betek Meets Business Community and Local Authorities in Gaziantep

Nippon Paint - Betek held the third edition of its "Agenda Conversations with Filli Paint" series in Gaziantep to discuss economic and sector developments. The meeting addressed the impact of global economic developments on the region, transformation opportunities in industry, energy efficiency and safe construction.

Local government representatives, industrialists and leading figures from the business world gathered at the event held in Gaziantep. Gaziantep's economic potential and its role in regional development, highlighted by strong production infrastructure in textiles, carpets and food sectors, were evaluated.

MESSAGE OF SUPPORT FOR INDUSTRIAL INVESTMENTS
Speaking at the meeting, Hasan Gökhan Güner, General Director of Nippon Paint - Betek Turkey, stressed the importance of collective intelligence in sector development and noted that strong communication established with stakeholders contributes to sustainable growth.

Expressing confidence in Turkey's industrial potential, Güner emphasized that restructuring processes to take place in neighboring geographies present important opportunities for Turkey. Stating that Gaziantep will play a critical role in this process with its production capacity and industrial investments, Güner said the company stands alongside investors with industrial paints, construction paints and thermal insulation solutions.

NEW FACILITY IN GEBZE INCREASED PRODUCTION CAPACITY
Referring to the company's recent investments, Güner announced that the new water-based paint facility launched with a USD 15 million investment in Gebze has been commissioned.

Noting that machine capacity was increased by 100 percent with the new investment, Güner stated that when the facility reaches full capacity, annual production capacity will reach 225,000 tonnes, with total production capacity rising to 350,000 tonnes.

NIPPON PAINT AND BETEK COMBINING STRENGTHS
Arzu Uludağ, Assistant General Director of Nippon Paint - Betek responsible for Marketing, noted that Filli Paint has been one of the leading brands in Turkey's paint sector for many years.

Uludağ stated that with the merger in 2019, Betek's local strength was combined with Nippon Paint's global R&D and technology infrastructure, and that the company continues its work toward becoming a regional center of technology and innovation.

CLIMATE CHANGE AND RESILIENT STRUCTURES ON THE AGENDA
The meeting also addressed climate change impacts on buildings and new technologies developed in this field. Attention was drawn to the increased importance of exterior facade systems in light of extreme weather events recently experienced in Gaziantep.

In this context, it was emphasized that exterior facade solutions developed by Filli Paint make buildings more resistant to water, UV rays and harsh weather conditions.

THERMAL INSULATION STANDS OUT IN ENERGY EFFICIENCY
The importance of thermal insulation in terms of energy efficiency was also evaluated at the event. It was noted that insulation applications, particularly in regions with intense hot and cold weather conditions, reduce energy consumption significantly.

Within the scope of work carried out by Dalmacyalı, a brand within Nippon Paint - Betek, it was reported that properly applied thermal insulation systems can provide savings of up to 60 percent in energy consumption.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENTS EVALUATED
Economists Vahap Munyar and Hakan Güldağ, who attended the meeting, also made assessments of current developments in Turkey's and the world's economy. Sessions addressing Gaziantep's trade and production dynamics brought industrialists' expectations and opportunities in the new period to the table.
