Graco Mechanical Proportioning M2K Unit

In paints and coatings with hardener cartridges, a product that relieves the painter of paint mixing and preparation work before spraying. In addition to its extensive 2K product portfolio, Graco, which introduced entry-level mechanically proportioned spray pumps to the market, is eliminating manual mixing and paint preparation in 2K paints with hardener cartridges. The standard procedure in a paint shop using 2K paint is to prepare the paint before spraying. This process takes 10-15 minutes for each paint bucket to be prepared and causes spillage and waste that creates mess around the work area. Paint with added hardener must be sprayed before its pot life expires. Particularly in summer months, air temperature and humidity reduce pot life duration, and the paint in the bucket thickens by the minute. Additionally, paint remaining in the bucket after work or shift ends becomes waste and must be disposed of in accordance with waste management regulations. This product is recommended for companies applying 2K paint that work with one or two colors per shift. For multicolor productions requiring color changes during shifts, Graco's electronically proportioned products are recommended.

Application:

With Graco's new M2K unit, paint preparation work in the paint shop is eliminated. With hardener cartridge entry, fresh material is prepared by the machine as spraying takes place. At end of day, when work is finished, only the machine hose needs to be cleaned, and unmixed A and B components in containers can be stored for their shelf life. This provides the operation savings in both paint and wash thinner. Spare Parts: The new M2K unit shares many spare parts with Graco's existing Merkur series products on the market. With its compact design, it is designed to fit in a passenger vehicle trunk.

Models achieving 200 bar paint pressure with pneumatic air-driven motors can spray many paints and coating materials on the market. Epoxy-based paints and resin systems, acrylics, polyurethane-based products and polyester materials, among others.

Air Consumption

A compact yet powerful product offers the advantage of continuous operation with lower air compared to large pump systems. In job site environments where compressor air is insufficient and many machines operate simultaneously, insufficient air reaching the paint pump damages the spray pattern and work quality, causing pump failure. The M2K unit operates consuming less air than large pumps.

Spray Technology

Remote Manifold Option

With the optional manifold in the M2K unit, while the hardener mixing process occurs right beside the paint booth, consumables such as cleaning thinner can be significantly reduced since hoses are kept short. The machine and paints can be positioned in a suitable area within the factory away from the paint booth. This eliminates confusion within the paint shop environment and opens up production floor space.
