Filli Boya, Dow Türkiye and Ahbap Launch Employment Initiative in Earthquake Region

As reconstruction efforts continue in the earthquake-affected region, qualified skilled labor remains scarce to accelerate work progress, while many earthquake survivors remain jobless. Through a collaboration between Filli Boya, Ahbap and Dow Turkey, the Paint Master Training Program, known as "Together We Master," aims to support solutions to both of these problems.

Within the scope of the program, where earthquake survivors aged 18-45 in Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, Adıyaman, Malatya and Gaziantep provinces who wish to acquire a profession, show aptitude for skilled work and are willing to become paint masters can apply via www.ahbap.org, a total of 200 paint masters will be trained through the training provided. To support the first steps of paint masters in the profession, their first paid job will be to carry out the painting work of two schools rebuilt in the region.

More than two years have passed since the 6 February earthquakes that shook Turkey. Reconstruction efforts continue to construct a total of 600,000 homes in the cities most affected by these earthquakes, the pain of which will never be forgotten. One of the most needed resources for housing and building construction is qualified human resources. While accessing this resource has become difficult in the region, which experienced serious migration after the earthquake, there are many earthquake survivors who are trying to live by not leaving their homeland and who need employment.

Filli Boya, taking a pioneering role in training qualified masters, Dow Turkey and Ahbap are joining forces to find joint solutions to problems in this field and launching a paint master training mobilization campaign in the earthquake region. The three companies, rolling up their sleeves to contribute to addressing the paint master shortage and employment issues in the reconstruction process, are preparing to actively support meeting qualified labor needs by providing training to 200 people who will become professionals through the Paint Master Training Program, which they have launched by saying "Together We Master."

A total of 200 paint masters will be trained
Filli Boya will provide the training and transfer knowledge and skills to the program, while Dow Turkey will be the other supporter, and Ahbap will be responsible for conducting the necessary coordination in the relevant regions. Applications are being accepted via the www.ahbap.org website and training announcements are being made through the Ahbap website and social media accounts. In the program where earthquake survivors aged 18-45 from Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, Adıyaman, Malatya and Gaziantep provinces can apply, each training will last two weeks in groups of 20 people each. A total of 200 paint masters will be trained through 10 planned training sessions.

Participants will learn the intricacies of paint, how to apply it on which surfaces in both theoretical and practical training, while pre-painting preparation and subsequent applications will be explained step by step with extensive practice. In addition to training in many different modules ranging from the chemistry of paint to terminology used in the sector, candidates will also receive training in social media, communication, entrepreneurship and marketing. Master candidates, who will also be educated about occupational safety, will enter the Professional Competence Exam, all costs of which will be covered by the program after completion of the training, and successful masters will receive their certificates.

Their first job will be painting two schools
With the program whose application process is ongoing, Filli Boya, Dow Turkey and Ahbap aim not only to make earthquake survivors professionals but also to provide support in the first steps of their professional careers. In this context, the first job of paint masters graduating from the program will be to carry out the painting work of two schools that were demolished after the earthquake and rebuilt, with labor costs paid.
