DYO Takes Important Step in Responsibility Commitment DYO Boya Fabrikaları Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş has signed the ICCA Responsible Care® Global Charter, establishing itself among companies committed to responsibility on the international platform.

DYO signed the ICCA Responsible Care Global Charter, which the global chemical industry pursues with the mission of ensuring safe chemicals management, delivering continuous improvement and achieving environmental, health, safety and security performance excellence.

Three-Pillar Responsibility Commitment Achieved

The three-pillar responsibility commitment – Responsible Care, launched in Canada in 1984 and implemented from 1993 onwards under the leadership of the Turkish Chemical Manufacturers Association, is applied on a entirely voluntary basis worldwide in the chemical sector to promote unified commitment towards safe management of chemicals throughout their life cycles, and to advance roles in improving quality of life and contributing to sustainable development. DYO has joined this commitment programme. In line with this commitment, DYO will continue production by prioritising technical safety, human health and the environment at every stage of its business processes and by keeping the fundamental principles of the three-pillar responsibility programme to the fore.

What is Three-Pillar Responsibility Commitment?

Three-Pillar Responsibility® (Responsible Care®) is supported at the European level by the European Chemical Industry Council (CEFIC) and at the global level by the International Council of Chemical Associations (ICCA), with its continuity being enhanced. The ICCA Responsible Care® leadership group (RGLG) has developed a series of implementation milestones to enable national associations to monitor progress. Based on Responsible Care's Eight Key Elements, these implementation milestones aim to guide national associations working to establish and grow Responsible Care in their regions. DYO, by signing the Responsible Care Global Charter, has committed to adopting a corporate leadership culture that proactively supports safe chemical management, continuing its operations with a focus on protecting people and the environment by ensuring continuous improvement in the environmental, health and safety performance of its work, and in the safety and management of its facilities, processes and technology, contributing to strengthening chemical management systems by participating in the development and implementation of life-cycle-focused, sound science and risk-based chemical safety legislation and best practices, working with business partners to promote safe management of chemicals in its operations, working with stakeholders to understand their needs and expectations, developing solutions and establishing transparent process-related communication for safer operations and products, and contributing to sustainability through improved performance, expanded economic opportunities and development of innovative technologies and other solutions to societal challenges.
