DriCAT® 2700F and DriCAT® 2705FW Series
DriCAT® series products are a new generation drier series manufactured for inks and oxidative alkyd-based paints using advanced metal carboxylate technology. Unlike products currently available on the market, DriCAT® series products offer the following benefits to your system:

DriCAT® series products can be used in both solvent-based systems and water-based systems.
DriCAT® 2700F Series for Solvent-Based Systems;
DriCAT® 2700F / Manganese-based,
DriCAT® 2710F / Iron-based,
DriCAT® 2720F / Manganese and iron combination
DriCAT® solvent-based series can also be used in combination with calcium, zirconium and strontium.
DriCAT® 2705FW Series for Water-Based Systems;
DriCAT® 2705FW / Manganese-based,
DriCAT® 2715FW / Iron-based,
DriCAT® 2725FW / Manganese and iron combination,
DriCAT® water-based series can also be used in combination with lithium and zirconium.
As seen in DriCAT® series products, manganese and iron minerals are used. Since Mn(II), Mn(III) and Fe(II), Fe(III) minerals have an active structure, they create the differences mentioned above and provide the paint with the extra properties we mentioned, in addition to drying.
As mentioned, it prevents yellowing because the cross-links are strong; this also gives the paint extra hardness and durability.
Cobalt Oxide Regulations
As is known, certain changes have been made to the regulations and in the coming years cobalt will be placed in the toxic minerals category and its use will be prohibited. According to current regulations, the active substance ratio cannot exceed 3% in the system and use of some cobalt-containing products is banned across Europe. Some of these include; Cobalt bis-2-ethylhexanoate, Cobalt Neodecanoate, Cobalt (II) 4-oxopent-2-en-2-olate.
DriCAT® series, unlike cobalt, contains no toxic substances and is an extremely safe product. If we need to detail DriCAT® 2700F and DriCAT® 2705FW series separately:
DriCAT® 2700F Series Solvent-Based
DriCAT® Solvent-Based Series delivers much faster drying results with calcium support.
To achieve maximum performance, the zirconium and calcium ratio is very important. Thanks to correct ratios, maximum performance is obtained from the product.
Zirconium does not need to be used or very little can be used. It provides faster initial drying.
If we need to show the difference of DriCAT® 2700F series products compared to cobalt with graphics; in the first graph you will see the length of whiteness duration and the yellowing that occurs.
As seen in the graphs, although whiteness levels are very similar in the initial stage, DriCAT® 2700F provides long-term whiteness as days pass and as shown, there is no increase in yellowing.
With another graph, the difference between superior drying properties and cobalt is shown in the graph.
DriCAT® 2705FW Series Water-Based
It is an advanced technology drier series that can be used to provide fast drying in water-based alkyd paints. As is known, in water-based alkyd systems, if water present in the system is not removed quickly and drying is not achieved, the cross-links within the system weaken and the system does not reach the desired hardness. This leads to problems such as poor surface formation, poor color and low hardness in the system and desired results are not obtained.
To eliminate these poor results, we have 6 different variations we can offer you. As you will see in these variations, DriCAT® 2705FW product will allow you to obtain excellent results in much lower quantities than you would expect.
In addition to the variations above, let us not forget that these ratios are affected by filler types, pigments and other substances present in the system. To keep your system performance the same; the zirconium and lithium balance is very important. When necessary, lithium and zirconium ratios can be readjusted to increase performance. As we did in Solvent-Based DriCAT® series, yellowing, whiteness and drying times of Water-Based DriCAT® series are also shown in the graphs.
As seen in all these tests and applications, DriCAT® 2700F and DriCAT® 2705FW products have superior performance and properties thanks to their much more advanced technology compared to driers currently available on the market. At the same time, when evaluated from a health perspective, they can be considered among the future's solvent and water-based driers.
