Cortec Launches New Anti-Corrosion Film
Cortec Launches New Corrosion-Inhibiting Film
Eco-Corr Film®, which provides superior contact, barrier and vapor-phase corrosion protection for ferrous and non-ferrous metals, is Cortec's first biodegradable corrosion-inhibiting film utilizing the company's proprietary VpCI® technology.
Eco-Corr Film® breaks down into water and carbon dioxide within 2-3 months in a composting environment. The biodegradation period of the films depends on the conditions and activity level of the disposal environment (temperature, soil quality, microorganism activity).
Eco-Corr Film® has a long shelf life and does not degrade until disposal in an appropriate composting environment.
Laboratory compostability testing of Eco-Corr Film® using a home composting bin showed that the film degraded within 112 days. Metal parts packaged in Eco-Corr Film® provide continuous protection against salt, excess moisture, condensation, humidity, aggressive industrial atmospheres and dissimilar metal corrosion.
