Ceronas's Most Innovative Micronized Waxes for the Paint Industry

Micronized waxes are widely used in the paint and coatings sector to impart specific surface properties to solvent- and water-based wood and industrial systems. Depending on the type of wax and particle size distribution, these products provide properties such as high slip (owing to the low static coefficient and dynamic friction of the waxes), improved scratch and abrasion resistance, soft-feel, hydrophobic properties and stain resistance.

Micronized waxes are widely used in the paints sector for solvent and water-based wood and industrial systems to impart specific surface properties. Depending on the type of wax and particle size distribution, the relevant products provide properties such as high slip (due to the waxes' low static and dynamic friction), improved scratch and abrasion resistance, soft-feel, hydrophobic characteristics and stain resistance. Synergistically, special micronized wax blends keep fillers stable in the system, preventing settling during storage. To obtain optimal properties and achieve cost advantages, balanced wax combinations often require grinding after being mixed into the system. In this way, the micronized wax blend with cylindrical structure and homogeneous distribution is properly incorporated into the paint formulation. Keim Group, a Germany-based company comprising Keim Additec Surface, Silcona, Euroceras and Ceronas, specializes in wax and paint applications. The system-specific CERALENE® waxes produced by Euroceras and the mju:wax® micronized wax product line produced by Ceronas generate innovative solutions in the paints sector. Accordingly, we present our newest and most innovative products to your attention as follows: PTFE-Free – Exceptional Scratch Resistance with the Brand New mju:wax® 9200 To achieve excellent scratch resistance without using PTFE-containing micronized wax and for use particularly in paints with high filler and pigment content, Ceronas has developed the product mju:wax® 9200. It is recommended that this product be added to the system at only half the dosage amount of standard micronized waxes. As can be seen in Figure 2, metal scratches can be easily wiped away from paint panels containing only mju:wax® 9200 from industrial wood paint systems containing TiO2. Figure 1. Results of 12-day storage testing at room temperature conditions. Excellent Transparency with mju:wax® 4810 and mju:wax® 8400 Both mju:wax® 4810 and mju:wax® 8400, which are polypropylene copolymer-based products, are our products with the best transparency. Both products improve the system's slip, scratch and abrasion resistance. When used together with silica, the degree of matting in the system can be adjusted. On the other hand, as can be seen in Figure 1, mju:wax® 4810 stabilizes silica and PTFE-containing micronized wax that tend to settle in the system. # SEKTÖRDEN# Sponsorlu# Ceronas# Sektöründeki# Yenilikçi
