Ahmet YİĞİTBAŞI Re-elected Chairman of the Paint Manufacturers Association

The Association of Paint Manufacturers BOSAD held its VIII. Regular General Assembly Meeting at the Intercontinental Hotel on 25 May 2017, where Ahmet YİĞİTBAŞI was re-elected Chairman of the Board of Directors. Following the elections held at BOSAD's VIII. Regular General Assembly, the sole professional organization of the Turkish paints and raw materials sector, the following were elected as board members: Altuğ Akbaş, M. Akın Akçalı, Kenan Baytaş, Cemal Drahor, Mustafa Deryal, R. Şükrü Ergün, Levend Kokuludağ, Semih Kılıç, Tayfun Küçükoğlu, Erol Mizrahi, Serdar Oran, Feridun Uzunyol and Ahmet Yiğitbaşı. The following names were elected as audit committee members: Dilek Çolakoğlu, Mustafa Konya and Ersin Yıldırım. Ahmet Yiğitbaşı, who has served as Chairman of the Association of Paint Manufacturers (BOSAD) since 2015 and was re-elected, stated in his closing remarks that the upcoming working period would be a new initiative period for BOSAD. He also noted that work will continue for the paints industry to become a sectoral attraction center within the framework of the goal to become a regional production and investment base, and said that in the coming period they will implement important projects aimed at growing the Turkish paints market. Ahmet YİĞİTBAŞI, who has served on the board at BOSAD as a founding member since 2003, studied Mechanical Engineering at Aachen University of Technology (Germany). He completed his master's degree in Fuel Engineering. Born in İzmir in 1958, Yiğitbaşı began his career in 1987 at Union Kraftstoff in Germany and served as Deputy General Manager and General Manager at Botaş Ambalaj San. A.Ş. between 1990-1996. Between 1996-2001, he served as Vice President responsible for different business units in Yaşar Holding Paint and Chemistry Group, including Automotive, Industrial, Construction Paints and Printing Inks, and from 2001-2015 served as Group President. Since 2015, he has continued his duties as Board Member at DYO Boya A.Ş, Toyo Printing Inks A.Ş and Desa Energy A.Ş. At Yaşar University, he served as Board of Trustees Member and Vice Chairman between 2003-2010, and has served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees since 2010.
