Axalta's Tlalnepantla Manufacturing Facility Celebrates 70 Years The facility produces innovative surface solutions for original equipment manufacturers' conventional and electric vehicles, light, medium and heavy-duty trucks and buses, refinish paint applications and color-matching systems. The facility opened in 1952 and initially focused on automotive refinish paint production. Axalta, a leading global coatings company, announced that it is celebrating 70 years of support its Tlalnepantla facility in Mexico has provided to the global coatings industry. Axalta has invested in the facility over the years to support advanced manufacturing innovation that enables it to export products to other regions such as North America, Central America, Asia Pacific and South America. Tlalnepantla produces Cromax® Gen, the company's next-generation basecoat technology, for customers in Latin America, the United States and Canada. Axalta Mexico President and Vice President of Refinish Axalta Latin America Daniel Salcido stated, "We are proud to celebrate 70 years of success made possible by the commitment of each of our employees, who are part of the strong history of the Tlalnepantla facility. The Tlalnepantla plant holds Clean Industry, ISO 14001:2015, Integral Responsibility and Responsible Care 14001:2015 certifications in the areas of health, safety and environment, and International Automotive Task Force (IATF) and ISO9000 quality certifications. Expanded to include a training center and Mexico's largest Axalta Distribution Center, Axalta's Tlalnepantla facility is one of three manufacturing plants the company operates in Mexico.
