Axalta Publishes 2018-2019 Sustainability Report

Axalta continues its operations safely while reducing its environmental footprint and developing innovative and sustainable coating technologies Axalta (NYSE: AXTA), one of the world's leading suppliers of powder and liquid coatings, has released its 2018-2019 Sustainability Report, highlighting the company's progress in sustainable business practices, including technology, operations and responsible procurement.

Over the two-year period covered by the report, Axalta demonstrated its commitment to progressing toward its sustainability and various environmental, social and governance (ESG) targets. The report highlights numerous awards Axalta has received from customers, technology organizations and other institutions recognizing the company's sustainability programs and performance. The report also demonstrates Axalta's more than 150 years of experience in the industry and its commitment to developing coating technology and creating sustainable products that enable materials to last longer and perform better. Over the past two years, Axalta has continued to invest in innovation by launching more than 250 new products to market and opening the Global Innovation Center, the world's largest color and coating research and development facility. Axalta reaffirmed its commitment to safe and responsible manufacturing with its new operating slogan "Drive Perfect Performance" accompanied by enhanced global safety training. In 2019, Axalta achieved an unprecedented best case rate of 0.28 in total, representing the highest safety performance in the coating industry. Axalta recorded reductions in energy consumption from its operations and related greenhouse gas emissions during the reporting period. The company also outlines its efforts to improve responsible procurement practices in its supply chain and human rights initiatives. Between 2018 and 2019, Axalta maintained its commitment to its employees and people living in the regions where it operates, and increased internal talent development, employee engagement, diversity and inclusion efforts. Through its Bright Futures program, the company collaborated with solution partners to make a difference in the communities where it operates by advancing science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education and environmental stewardship initiatives.
