1915 Çanakkale Bridge Painted with Jotun
Following the Osmangazi Gulf Crossing Bridge, Yavuz Sultan Selim Strait Bridge and Eurasia Tunnel, Jotun was also selected for the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge.
Jotun was selected for the coating of the Çanakkale Bridge, the world's longest main span bridge. Jotun, a strong industrial paint manufacturer in its field, provides long-lasting protection with its high-quality products.
Jotun continues to protect Turkey's important structures. Used in many significant buildings, Jotun was also applied to the Çanakkale 1915 bridge. The 1915 Çanakkale Bridge, with its main span of 2,023 metres, total length of 4,608 metres and height of 318 metres, features 2 steel towers, steel deck and all auxiliary steel components protected with Jotun.
Jotun's High-Performance Industrial Paints Selected
A total of 600,000 litres of paint was used in the project and Jotun's industrial paints, which provide high protection against corrosion and harsh conditions, were chosen. Jotun's Jonathar series, which was also used on the Osmangazi Bridge and offers fire resistance, was applied to certain sections of the Çanakkale Bridge.
The colours of the Turkish flag were used on the bridge. The towers were painted in Turkish Flag Red in the final coat, while the deck was finished in Turkish Flag White. The tower colour was painted with a specially produced shade called 1915 Çanakkale Red.
Jotun, bringing the colours of the Turkish flag to the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge, became the choice for all bridges connecting the European Side to Asia.
