We Conducted an Interview with Mrs. Talin Saraylı Dikici

Saray Alüminyum, which places great emphasis on innovation and R&D activities, has been developing products for aluminium solutions for over 40 years. In an interview we conducted, Talin Saraylı Dikici, Board Member of Saray Alüminyum, provided information about the products and services offered by Saray Alüminyum.

Could you briefly tell our readers about yourself and your professional background?

Could you provide information about the establishment process and areas of activity of Saray Alüminyum?

As Saray Alüminyum, since 1980 we have distinguished ourselves with our architectural aluminium solutions including doors, windows, facades, sliding systems, aluminium composite panels, blinds and shutters, PVC systems, as well as industrial profile solutions, backed by our specialist production capacity, quality and innovative products. With the pioneering and innovative facade solutions we have developed, we play a major role in the construction of future architectural structures.  

Could you provide information about the products and services offered by Saray Alüminyum? What sectors are among your target markets?

We produce doors, windows, facades, sliding systems and blinds and shutters, aluminium composite panels, PVC door and window systems, and industrial profiles in various shapes and sizes for sectors including machinery, lighting, heating-cooling, automotive, elevators and others.

Could you provide information about Saray Alüminyum's domestic and international activities?

For over 40 years we have served every part of Turkey. Internationally, we export to more than 60 countries, including Europe, Asia and the Middle East as well as America and Africa.

Could you provide information about Saray Alüminyum's environmental policy and sustainability approach?

As an innovative and established brand in the aluminium sector, we operate in accordance with sustainability principles at every step, from production processes to the environmental impacts of our products and quality processes. We implement this process starting from our own production facilities, through our products and applications. Energy efficiency is a priority for us alongside production volume in all our investment processes. As a company producing to international standards, we have a two-stage production process that takes into account the European Green Deal, which aims to minimise the effects of the climate crisis. In the first stage we use sustainable energy sources, and in the second stage we develop products with high thermal insulation performance. We have completed our investments aimed at reducing carbon footprint in production. With three wind power plants implemented at our Çerkezköy facility through an investment of approximately EUR 6.6 million, we obtain 6 MW of electrical energy per year. Thanks to the clean energy used in production, our facility's corporate carbon footprint has fallen to 1 million 325 thousand tCO2e, thus preventing 7,900 tonnes of carbon emissions per year and achieving a 30 per cent improvement in production-related greenhouse gas emissions. We will generate electrical energy with our new facility's rooftop solar investment, which we will put into operation in the near future.

Could we receive information about the innovation and R&D work you are carrying out at Saray Alüminyum?

In our core business areas of aluminium doors, windows, facades and sliding systems; PVC systems, blinds and shutters, and aluminium composite panels, as well as architectural systems, we are among the sector's most important suppliers in industrial profile production. Aluminium, an environmentally friendly material, is expanding its areas of application in our daily lives with each passing day. At Saray Alüminyum we present our innovation work to the market through R&D activities conducted in parallel with customer demands and sector needs. In particular, we enable the construction sector to meet with products and systems that have more environmentally friendly and high-performance values. Our priority in products used in architecture is to develop systems that offer innovative solutions with high resistance to external weather conditions and high insulation values. For this purpose, we conduct product development by evaluating the different demands of each geographic region and prioritising accordingly.

What are among Saray Alüminyum's future investment plans? Would you share your investment priorities with our readers?

As Saray Alüminyum, in the face of intensive incoming demand, we have made decisions to increase our capacity in all working areas and planned facility and machinery-equipment investments in parallel. As a result of these decisions, along with our new factory and facility investments, our new solar and wind power investments are being prepared to become operational in 2023. We can summarise these investments as 2,000-tonne and 4,500-tonne press lines, vertical and horizontal electrostatic coating facilities, a new foundry, solar and wind power plants.
