Interview with Bünyamin Çam, Founder of Mikrotest Laboratuvar Cihazları

We conducted an engaging interview with Bünyamin Çam and the company he founded, Mikrotest Laboratuvar Cihazları, discussing its significant market position, product range and areas of operation.

Could you briefly tell us about yourself and your professional background? I was born in Ankara. I have been in business from day one of my working life. I made my first serious venture in spare parts manufacturing in 2010. In those days, I understood that business was enjoyable but production was even more so. I realized that developing and manufacturing things from scratch was in my instincts, in my nature. To reach beyond my dreams, I founded my company Mikrotest Laboratuvar Cihazları Ltd. Şti. Now I am living my dreams and becoming a source of courage and inspiration for others to live theirs.How has Mikrotest Laboratuvar Cihazları evolved from its inception to the present day? In your view, what is the most important factor that determined this process? In the beginning, limited budget, an unknown company name, and limited equipment and workforce were among the challenges I faced. Through courage, determination, experience and knowledge, I have overcome all these difficulties and now lead a company known for its superior quality products. The most important part of this success is setting challenging targets each year and working methodically and tirelessly to achieve them.

What is your product portfolio? How do you evaluate the importance of technology in laboratory equipment?

We are laboratory equipment manufacturers and do only what we do best. Technology has always been the driving force behind laboratory equipment. The most important part of the equipment we use in manufacturing is exactly that. The technology we use in manufacturing makes it easy for us to supply rich equipment across various industrial sectors.

What are your thoughts on R&D?

Research and Development (R&D) is the only way to grow business and become a brand recognized by the entire world. R&D is a continuously advancing process where results may take years to achieve. For this reason, to reach successful results, R&D requires patience, persistence, hard work and a tight team.

What activities have you undertaken in the name of R&D as Mikrotest Laboratuvar Cihazları? What need gave rise to these activities?

R&D is the foundation of our company. We never see it as an addition to our business. Thanks to the value and importance we place on R&D, every bit of our products is unparalleled and unrivaled. Our R&D department is the reason we are always one step ahead on the path to having the best products in its class on the market, from external appearance to complex control algorithms. For example, we are proud, thanks to our R&D and production teams, of being among the first Turkish manufacturers in the -80°C Plasma Freezing Unit.

What R&D investments have you made or are planning to make?

As Mikrotest, we allocate unlimited resources to our R&D department. The department includes designers, structural and fluid dynamics engineers and software developers. Thanks to this strong team, we can easily fulfill our customers' extraordinary requests within limited time. Besides this, we continuously test each product we produce with our quality and R&D units and continue to make improvements. Extraordinary testing equipment, design software, entirely in-house manufacturing capacity, and support from consultants we have engaged from respected universities and the private sector are among the investments we have made in our R&D department.

What process does after-sales technical support service cover?

After-sales service is another important unit for our company. We continuously have the goal of 100% customer satisfaction and the way to achieve this is through flawless after-sales service provided after delivering an unrivaled product to the customer. Our field engineers who solve problems at lightning speed, along with our round-the-clock technical support, form the foundation of our after-sales services.

What innovations do you want to realize in the coming years? How do you think these innovations will boost Mikrotest Laboratuvar Cihazları and the sector?

The sector we are in is relatively new and developing. There is still much room for major progress. We are aware that with our country's incentives and entrepreneurial reflexes, we can manufacture all necessary equipment in our company.
