Interview with Hasan Hüseyin Engin, Company Owner and Director of eMEDa

eMEDa Owner and Director Hasan Hüseyin Engin spoke with us about the company's development process and the products it has introduced to the sector.

Could you briefly tell our readers about yourself and your educational background?

I graduated from the Department of Chemical Engineering at Middle East Technical University and completed a master's degree at Boğaziçi University on "Properties of Polymer Blends". I worked as a senior manager in the chemical sector for 15 years and, during that time, decided to establish eMEDa with the aim of designing instruments to ease the production difficulties I encountered on the production side.

Could you outline the development process of eMEDa since its establishment?

eMEDa was established in 2003 as a service company for tinting systems. In addition to representing high-quality tinting system suppliers, we developed several innovative equipment designed to facilitate work in the laboratory and production.

Could you provide information about your product groups and the sectors you serve?

We offer innovative equipment such as Emok, which reduces the drying time of paint samples from hours to minutes and accelerates the colour measurement cycle. We also manufacture and install mixers, dispersers and filling systems in various sizes for the production of various materials. While we primarily serve the paints industry, our products can also be used in other sectors. We are now able to design and provide custom-made, turnkey laboratory and production systems to our customers. Our goal is to create breakthrough designs and provide modern equipment that makes processes faster and operator-independent.

Do you provide pre-sales and after-sales support activities for customer satisfaction? What quality principles do you apply for the reliability of your products and the continuity of your company?

Since we started as a service company, we naturally provide technical consultancy and support before and after sales. After completing the installation of our equipment, we continuously monitor and support our customers. To ensure that our customers continuously receive high-quality products and services, we use the ISO 9001-2015 quality management system. We manufacture our equipment in compliance with CE directives and these products are tested by independent laboratories.

What are your thoughts on the chemical industry equipment sector in Turkey?

Particularly over the past 10 years, considerable progress has been recorded. Turkish machinery companies serving the chemical industry are currently growing in many countries.

Could you provide information about your targets and projects?

Our goal is to create breakthrough designs and provide modern equipment that makes processes faster and operator-independent. Apart from Emok rapid film applicator and Ekta bucket test, we have started prototype work on Etok rapid powder coating curing system and Edos valve robot for filling difficult materials in small batches.   Turkish machinery companies serving the chemical industry are currently growing in many countries.

What activities do you undertake regarding environmental protection and occupational safety?

In addition to productivity and functionality, environment and safety are of course fundamental criteria in our designs and prototypes. Furthermore, we produce our products without compromising on environmentally friendly technologies. We also conduct regular training and evaluations at our company.
