Ülker Chief Executive Officer Mete Buyurgan provided the following information on the subject:
"We concluded a challenging year with significant achievements and firsts. At the beginning of the year, we completed Ülker Bisküvi's first sustainability-linked credit agreement valued at USD 330 million total. We continued our sustainability approach, which lies at the centre of our business operations, in the financing area as well. We expanded our work on sustainable raw material procurement through our Water Risks and Beyond Hazelnuts projects. According to environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance evaluation results conducted by LSEG (London Stock Exchange Group), an international financial analysis and reporting organisation, we ranked first among companies evaluated globally in our category in January 2024 based on our performance. While maintaining our market leadership, last year we introduced a total of 47 new products in the biscuit, chocolate and cake categories in Turkey to our consumers. Innovation and digitalisation remained very important priorities this year as well. We put 20 autonomous mobile robots into operation at our Gebze facility. The robots, capable of transporting 2,600 types of materials including raw materials and packaging, will increase production efficiency at the plant and provide cost advantages. We will continue our strong performance in 2024 and contribute to our country, our economy, our employees, our consumers and all our stakeholders. We will continue our operations with our waste-free company culture. Our priority will be to leverage innovation not only in developing our product range but also in digitalisation, product procurement, further strengthening our distribution network and many other areas."Advertisement
