Turkish Ytong Marks Its 57th Anniversary with Online Ceremony

  Türk Ytong, the leading building materials company and world leader in autoclaved aerated concrete production, celebrated its 57th anniversary with an online ceremony and live connections to its factories, together with its employees. Türk Ytong Board Chair F. Fethi Hinginar said that even under the extraordinary circumstances brought by 2020, they are looking to the future with strength and confidence. He stated that Türk Ytong continued production without interruption in 2020 while taking COVID-19 precautions, working to meet the demands of the construction sector. At the online ceremony attended by company founders, partners, executives and employees, service awards were distributed to those who have served under the Ytong umbrella for 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 35 years. Live connections were made from the management center in Istanbul to Ytong's plants in Antalya, Çatalca, Bilecik, Trakya and Dilovası. In his remarks, Türk Ytong Board Chair F. Fethi Hinginar said that the construction sector, which had faced difficulties in recent years, was negatively affected along with all sectors by the addition of the pandemic.  

Economic life was turned upside down

Fethi Hinginar pointed out that the largest pandemic of the century, which started in China and spread rapidly across the world, has infected millions of people to date and claimed the lives of more than 1.5 million people, saying "We are leaving behind a period in which doctors and all health personnel, at the cost of their own lives and with great sacrifice, tried to save and heal people. During this process, the economy, trade and working life were turned upside down. Under these circumstances, as Türk Ytong, we fought hard to both protect the health of our employees and continue production. I congratulate and take pride in the entire Ytong family, which showed great solidarity and unity in this uncertain environment." he said.

We took precautions, production continued

F. Fethi Hinginar added that with the decisions made by the crisis team established by Türk Ytong management from the beginning of the pandemic, they continued production at the factories, saying "Thanks to the precautions we took, in the face of all the extraordinary difficulties of 2020, today we as Türk Ytong stand firm and sound, and we continue to look to the future with confidence for 2021. We are ready for a period in which we will make progress with projects that will bring light to the future and take us and our country to better days."
