Ali Tolga Ünal Appointed Deputy General Manager of Strategy at Şişecam

Ali Tolga Ünal has been appointed as Deputy General Manager of Strategy at Şişecam, the only global company operating across all core segments of the glass industry.

Şişecam, a global player in the glass and chemicals sectors pursuing the goal of becoming one of the world's top three players in its main business areas, has appointed Ali Tolga Ünal to the position of Deputy General Manager of Strategy. In his new role, Ünal will play an active part in evaluating the performance of strategic objectives within the company, identifying opportunities related to all strategic investments, partnerships, growth, acquisition and divestment projects on Şişecam's agenda, and ensuring that necessary actions are taken in a timely manner to achieve targets.

Ünal graduated from Bilkent University's Department of Industrial Engineering in 1993 and completed his master's degree in Economics at the same university. Starting his career as an Inspector at İş Bankası in 1997, Ünal held various management positions at the bank. Following roles at different group subsidiaries, he also served as a Member of the Board of Directors at Isbank AG Frankfurt. Most recently, he served as Head of the Financial Management Division at İş Bankası, coordinating the preparation and publication of the Bank's solo and consolidated financial reports, determining accounting policies to be applied in the financial statements of subsidiaries within the scope of consolidation. Ünal was also responsible for informing the CFO and senior management in strategic financial decisions, as well as preparing the profit distribution process, managing the capital increase process, and overseeing the Bank's financial reporting process and policies within this framework.
