Rövşan Najaf Appointed President of SOCAR

By decision of Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev, Rovshan Najaf, who held the position of First Deputy Chairman of SOCAR and served as Acting Chairman of SOCAR, has been appointed as Chairman of SOCAR. Najaf served as Head of the Investment Contracts Department in SOCAR's Investment Department between 2008 and 2009. Before assuming the position of First Deputy Chairman of SOCAR and Acting Chairman of SOCAR, he held the position of First Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan.       SOCAR Founded in 1992, the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic SOCAR makes the resources of Azerbaijan, one of the world's richest countries in terms of oil and natural gas, available for international development and benefit.
