Merck Announces New Appointment in Turkey

Merck has made a new appointment, offering its employees diverse career opportunities and experiences. Merck Turkey Business and Operations Excellence Director Dağhan Güçlü will now continue his role as "Oncology Therapeutic Area Director." [caption id="attachment_114237" align="aligncenter"] Dağhan Güçlü[/caption] Dağhan Güçlü, currently Merck Turkey Business and Operations Excellence Director, was appointed to the position of "Oncology Therapeutic Area Director" as of 15 November 2020. Güçlü completed his undergraduate studies in Economics at Boğaziçi University, his Master's degree (Executive MBA) in Business Administration at Koç University, and marketing training at INSEAD. He joined Merck's Oncology team in 2017 as Marketing Manager. He successfully managed the Bavencio launch preparation process and the collaboration with Pfizer during this period. Since 2018, Dağhan Güçlü has held the position of Business and Operations Excellence Director. During this time, he led local process and process improvement initiatives with his team. He successfully led commercial operations division, new product launch preparation processes, market research processes for product portfolio, initiatives for multiplying and sharing best practices within the company, sales execution systems division, compliance support team, and digital transformation and integration processes. He also supported the localization and implementation of global, regional strategic and operational projects and initiatives within Merck. Before joining Merck, Dağhan Güçlü worked in sales at Petrol Ofisi and 3M between 2004 and 2006, and continued his career in the pharmaceutical industry from 2006 onwards at Roche in product manager and launch preparation manager positions. As Oncology Therapeutic Area Director, Güçlü will be responsible for marketing and sales strategies for oncology products, the launch of new products in this field for medical use and patient treatment, and the management of the Oncology Business Unit.
