Senior Appointment at L'Oréal Türkiye
L'Oréal Turkey makes senior appointment with Sinem Sandıkçı Gökçen named as Country General Manager, the first Turkish woman to hold the position in L'Oréal Turkey's history.
Sinem Sandıkçı Gökçen is a dedicated beauty professional with 21 years of experience driven by the belief in beauty's power to transform lives. A graduate of Tarsus American College and Middle East Technical University's Faculty of Business Administration, she began her career with L'Oréal Turkey in 2000.
Following marketing responsibilities across various business units and organizational levels, she assumed the role of Marketing Director. She subsequently gained sales experience in the fast-moving consumer goods market. She served as Brand Development Director, tasked with establishing L'Oréal's acquired İpek brand as competitive in the Turkish and Middle East markets.
She then became the company's first Corporate Communications Director, localizing the "Beauty for All" mission in Turkey while managing L'Oréal's corporate reputation, stakeholder relations, corporate social responsibility activities and sustainability programs. Subsequently, she was appointed General Manager of the consumer health business unit, which aims to add health benefits to beauty. In this role, she led the division and market transformation and development objectives.
On L'Oréal's journey to becoming number one tech-beauty company, she took on Corporate Digital Director (CDO) responsibilities overseeing e-commerce, digital transformation, innovation and digital services, data and CRM, content production, and media units.
Most recently, she was appointed General Manager of the Consumer Products Division, the company's largest business unit in the fast-moving consumer goods market. She redesigned the division's strategy in light of changing consumer and market dynamics amid Covid-19, driving a shift toward beauty and growth.
With a colorful career spanning over 20 years within the L'Oréal Group marked by significant achievements, Sinem Sandıkçı Gökçen played an important role in L'Oréal's market leadership and success in Turkey's beauty sector through her experience across both business units and shared departments.
With her extensive experience, accumulated knowledge and valued leadership capabilities, Sinem Sandıkçı Gökçen as L'Oréal Turkey's first Turkish woman Country General Manager will lead the beauty giant's Turkish team and operations in the new era to realize the vision of "Creating Beauty That Moves the World." She will implement the company's strategic priorities including sustainability, digitalization, diversity and inclusion, creating meaningful brands, and women empowerment on the path to becoming a Tech-Beauty company.
