Turkish Pharmaceutical Manufacturers' Employers' Union Appoints New Secretary General
Management changes have been made at the Pharmaceutical Industry Employers' Association (İEİS), a pioneering and established institution in Turkey's pharmaceutical industry. In this context, Savaş Malkoç has been appointed to the position of Secretary General of İEİS.
Savaş Malkoç, who took office as Secretary General on 1 October 2020, previously served as Director General of Risk Management, Liquidation and Revolving Capital at the Ministry of Commerce. Additionally, Hacer Coşkun Çetintaş, former Head of the Licensing Department at the Turkish Medicines and Medical Devices Agency, has been appointed to the position of Deputy Secretary General at İEİS.

Savaş Malkoç
Savaş Malkoç graduated from the Department of International Relations at the Faculty of Political Sciences at Ankara University in 1995. He began his career in 1996 as a Foreign Trade Expert Assistant at the Turkish Prime Ministry's Undersecretariat of Foreign Trade, Export Directorate General, and worked as a Foreign Trade Expert and Branch Manager until 2006. He completed a master's degree in Economic Policies (MS) at the University of Illinois in the United States, which he began in 2000, finishing in 2002. Between 2006 and 2009, he worked as a Commercial Adviser at the Turkish Embassy in Budapest. Between 2009 and 2011, he served as Branch Manager at the Turkish Prime Ministry's Undersecretariat of Foreign Trade, Export Directorate General; between 2011 and 2013, he held the position of Department Head. In October 2013, he was appointed as Department Head to the Information Technology Department of the Turkish Ministry of Economy, and following his tenure there, in October 2018 he took on the role of Advisor to the Minister at the Turkish Ministry of Commerce. On 10 January 2019, he was appointed Director General of Risk Management, Liquidation and Revolving Capital at the Turkish Ministry of Commerce. Hacer Coşkun Çetintaş graduated from the Hacettepe Faculty of Pharmacy and completed her master's degree in pharmaceutical technology. After starting her career in 2004 at the Directorate General of Pharmaceuticals and Pharmacy, she worked at various levels in the field of licensing. During this period, she served as secretary of the Biotechnological Products Evaluation Commission until 2012. Following the transformation of the Turkish Medicines and Medical Devices Agency in 2012, she held unit management responsibilities in various departments, serving as the person responsible for the licensing of all reference and equivalent products to be brought to the Turkish market. Between 2016 and 2020, she served as Head of the Drug Licensing Department. Between 2015 and 2020, she served as a member of the Biological and Biotechnological Products Advisory Commission and conducted a six-month study in this field at the University of Hertfordshire in England in 2018. She served as the representative and coordinator of the Turkish Medicines and Medical Devices Agency at the International Council for Harmonisation of Technical Requirements for Pharmaceuticals for Human Use (ICH) and oversaw Turkey's membership process. In 2019-2020, she was elected Deputy Chair of the International Pharmaceutical Regulators Programme (IPRP) and held this position for two terms.
