Dassault Systèmes Acquires Medidata Solutions

Dassault Systèmes and Medidata Solutions, Inc. (NASDAQ: MDSO), the leader in digital transformation of the life sciences industry around clinical development, commercialization and real-world data intelligence, announced that Dassault Systèmes has signed an agreement to acquire Medidata for a total of USD 5.8 billion at USD 92.25 per share in cash. The transaction has been unanimously approved by the Boards of Directors of both companies. Medidata, which ended its fiscal year on 31 December 2018, generated revenue of USD 636 million. By acquiring US-based Medidata and its clinical and commercial solutions, Dassault Systèmes will strengthen its position as a science-based company by providing the Life Sciences industry with an integrated business experience platform delivering an end-to-end approach to research and discovery, development, clinical testing, manufacturing and commercialization of new therapies and healthcare technologies.
