Ali Ülker Hands Over Chairmanship of the Board to Mehmet Tütüncü

Ali Ülker has handed over his role as Board Chairman at Yıldız Holding, which he has held since February 2020, to Mehmet Tütüncü, Vice President and CEO of Yıldız Holding.

At its recent meeting, the Yıldız Holding Board of Directors appointed Mehmet Tütüncü to the position of Board Chairman. Mehmet Tütüncü, who has served as Vice President and CEO of the Holding since 2018, took over the role from Ali Ülker, who has held the Board Chairman position since 2020. The appointment decision was announced on 28 April through the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) and communicated to all shareholders and stakeholders through Yıldız Holding's publicly listed companies including Ülker Bisküvi, Kerevitaş, ŞOK Marketler, Bizim Toptan, Gözde Girişim and Penta Teknoloji.

Publishing a farewell message to Yıldız Holding employees, Ali Ülker said: "I have completed 5 years in the Board Chairman position I took over in February 2020. I have taken great pleasure in being part of the Parlayan Yıldız family and walking this path with you. We overcame difficult periods together, including the global pandemic that occurred in the first weeks I took office, the responsibility of Turkey's largest union confederation, and the struggle to heal the wounds of a devastating earthquake.

We worked together to strengthen this precious legacy we inherited from our elders and carry it forward to the future in a stronger way. We took important steps in carrying our companies' values and ways of doing business toward a sustainable future. Over the years, we witnessed together how solidarity, determination and cooperation strengthened us. I sincerely thank you, my valued colleagues, for making me part of these wonderful successes and allowing me to witness every moment of them.

My career, which began at age 15 during summer holidays, has now exceeded 40 years. Institutions are permanent, people are temporary; with this understanding, I have decided to hand over the Board Chairman position at the end of the fifth year. On this occasion, I extend my deepest gratitude, first to Murat Ülker Bey, for deeming me worthy of this honorable position, to our valued Board members, and to you, my esteemed colleagues, for your support. I will always take pleasure in following your shining achievements and successes. I believe with all my heart that in the continuation of this story we have written together, you will continue to make beautiful contributions to humanity and remain a source of happiness."

Thanking Ali Ülker for his leadership during difficult times at Yıldız Holding and his efforts in carrying the holding forward, Murat Ülker also expressed his thoughts as follows:

"Mister Ali Ülker took on great responsibility in preserving the financial stability of Yıldız Holding and its companies during difficult periods such as the pandemic and the February 2023 earthquakes. During this 5-year period, by focusing on the snacking and retail sectors, he made important decisions that will accelerate the growth strategies of Yıldız Holding and its companies. I thank Mister Ali Ülker for his valuable contributions to Yıldız Holding and wish Mister Mehmet Tütüncü success in the new period. And I know that even though Ali Bey says he will devote more time to his personal interests going forward, we will continue to benefit from his expertise around the world in the coming period."
