Yörsan Celebrates the Role of Women in Agricultural Production

Özer Matlı, Chairman of the Board of Matlı Şirketler Grubu, emphasized that rural development and agricultural sustainability cannot be discussed without the labor of women who shoulder the burden of production in rural life. On the occasion of 15 October World Women Farmers Day, he thanked all female producers who shape the future of agriculture and congratulated them on their special day.

World Women Farmers Day, first brought to the agenda at the 4th World Women's Conference held in Beijing, China's capital, in 1995, has been celebrated in our country since 1997; it highlights women's determining roles in agricultural production, their wisdom in sustainable use of natural resources, and their contributions to ensuring food security. This special day, declared by the International Association of Agricultural Producers, reminds all segments of society of the strategic role women farmers undertake in rural development and honors the power of women's labor in production.

Making statements on the occasion of 15 October World Women Farmers Day, Özer Matlı, Chairman of the Board of Matlı Şirketler Grubu, said the following:

"Women are the invisible heroes of agriculture. Through their labor, wisdom and patience, they have a very critical role in every stage of production. As Matlı Şirketler Grubu, which draws its strength from agricultural production, we accept it as our responsibility to make visible the valuable contributions of our women farmers. Our women plow the fields, sow seeds, harvest crops, care for their animals, milk them, and at the same time support their families. In addition to all of this, they also take on traditional household work. Without the labor of our women who shoulder the burden of production in rural life, we cannot speak of either rural development or sustainability in agriculture."

'Standing Shoulder to Shoulder with Our Female Producer' social responsibility project is growing and developing
"We continue to stand by female entrepreneurs with our experience exceeding 60 years in agriculture and livestock. Through the work we carry out under the Matlı Women Producers Support Platform with our brands Yörsan, Proyem and Burdan; we have provided benefits both to our female producers and to producers in the regions where they live. With our Yörsan brand, which received an award in the "Support for Women Entrepreneurs and Women's Power" category from the Women-Friendly Brands Platform in 2024, through the 'Standing Shoulder to Shoulder with Our Female Producer' social responsibility project; we provided machinery and equipment support to our female producers in the Marmara and Aegean regions. We offered trainings and consulting services on topics such as calf health and nutrition. In order to further strengthen women in this sector, the second phase of our project continues with an educational focus."
