Yaşar Holding Steps Up Fight Against Climate Change

Yaşar Holding Chief Executive Officer Dr. Mehmet Aktaş, noting that combating climate crisis is on their agenda, stated: "We prioritize efficient energy use, waste management and water protection, advancing with confident steps on our sustainability journey."

Taking into account future needs and the challenges facing the world, Yaşar Group is taking steps toward sustainability and has been reporting on sustainability activities since 2009 under the UN Global Compact, which it joined as a voluntary signatory in 2007.

"We aim to provide future generations with a better life"

Dr. Mehmet Aktaş, noting that they have aligned Pınar's sustainability targets with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, said: "Our goal is to carry our world into the future with today's resources and provide future generations with a better life. Our world and economy are changing rapidly. Business processes that do not include sustainability have no chance of being competitive."

Pınar awarded 'A' rating

Stating that "climate crisis is not tomorrow's problem, but today's," Dr. Mehmet Aktaş said: "As a reflection of our work, through the CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project)'s Turkey initiative, we achieved 'A' ratings in both the climate and water categories of the CDP Turkey Climate and Water Leaders Awards, placing ourselves among Turkey's leaders. Additionally, according to the CDP Turkey Climate Change Report 2018 results, we were recognized with a 'B' rating among 7,000 companies. We aim to achieve even better results by advancing in line with the Sustainable Development Goals established by the United Nations." Dr. Mehmet Aktaş, Chief Executive Officer of Yaşar Holding, noting that Pınar, one of Yaşar Group's brands, was founded with the idea of "creating a sustainable ecosystem," stated: "Pınar was established with the ideal of Yaşar Group's Honorary Chairman Selçuk Yaşar that 'children should drink more and healthier milk.'
