Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Sector Targets $4 Billion in Berlin
The fresh fruit and vegetable sector, which brought Türkiye USD 3.7 billion in foreign exchange earnings in 2025, took part in the Fruit Logistica fair in Germany, one of the markets where it is strong in exports, in pursuit of its USD 4 billion export target. The sector's export target for 2026 is to exceed USD 4 billion.
Turkey's fresh fruit and vegetable sector, which earned the country USD 3.7 billion in foreign currency in 2025, participated in the Fruit Logistica Fair in Germany, one of its strongest export markets, to reach its USD 4 billion export target. The sector's export goal for 2026 is to exceed USD 4 billion.
A total of 63 Turkish companies, including all stakeholders such as fruit, vegetable, machinery and logistics operators, exhibited at the fair, which hosted over 90,000 visitors from 151 countries.
Ege Yaş Meyve Sebze İhracatçıları Birliği participated in the Fruit Logistica Fair held in Berlin, Germany between 4-6 February 2026 with an information stand.
Hayrettin Uçak, Deputy Coordinator President of Ege Exporter Unions and President of Ege Yaş Meyve Sebze İhracatçıları Birliği, stated that they explained Turkey's production capacity in the fresh fruit and vegetable sector to importers from all over the world at the Fruit Logistica Fair, which is the world's largest meeting point for the fresh fruit and vegetable sector.
10 of the 20 countries with the highest exports are EU member states
Uçak, emphasizing that they had the opportunity to meet with existing customers at the Fruit Logistica Fair as well as conduct meetings with potential buyers, said: "The European Union is among our most important markets; 10 of the 20 countries to which we export the most are EU member states. We achieved USD 288 million in exports to Germany in 2025. Romania led Germany with USD 290 million in exports. Poland, Bulgaria and the Netherlands followed these countries. In 2025, we increased our exports from USD 3.4 billion to USD 3.7 billion with a 9% increase. Our target for 2026 is to exceed USD 4 billion in exports."
The Ege Yaş Meyve Sebze İhracatçıları Birliği stand was visited by Gökhan Turan, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Berlin, Devran Ayık, Commercial Counselor of the Republic of Turkey in Berlin, and Mehmet Sefa Saral, Commercial Attaché of the Republic of Turkey in Berlin. At the Fruit Logistica Fair, Hayrettin Uçak, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ege Yaş Meyve Sebze İhracatçıları Birliği, Cengiz Balık, Vice Chairman of the Board, Board Members Sadık Demircan and Vural Güleç, Makbule Çiftçi, Chairman of the EYMSİB Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Committee, and İ. Cumhur İşbırakmaz, General Secretary of Ege Exporter Unions, worked to increase Turkey's fresh fruit and vegetable exports.
