Yapı Fuarı-Turkeybuild İstanbul Gets New Dates

The 43rd Turkeybuild Istanbul 2020 construction fair – scheduled to showcase industry trends and the latest building technologies and construction products – has had its dates rescheduled from 18-22 April 2020 due to the global COVID-19 situation. Following the Ministry of Commerce's decision to postpone trade fairs scheduled to take place by the end of April 2020, the new dates have been set for 24-28 August 2020. The fair, to be held at TÜYAP Convention and Exhibition Centre, will take place as planned on its new dates. Kemal Ülgen, General Director of Hyve Group in Turkey – the global exhibition company organizing the construction fair – stated that they support the Ministry of Commerce's decision. Ülgen continued as follows: "The global spread of COVID-19 and the World Health Organization's classification of the disease as a pandemic have necessitated serious precautions in the business world. The health of our staff, participants and visitors is always our top priority. We are confident that all our stakeholders will understand our decision to hold our fair in the construction and building sector – one of Turkey's most important sectors – on 24-28 August 2020. We will keep our participants and the public informed of all developments." The fair, which is the largest in a broad region encompassing the Balkans, CIS countries, the Middle East and North Africa, and ranks among the top 5 globally, will continue its preparations to welcome visitors from around the world over the four-day period. Organized by Hyve Group with the support of the Ministry of Commerce, the fair aims to leverage its strong global network in the construction sector to create new business, partnership and procurement opportunities. Turkeybuild Istanbul provides a productive platform filled with business development activities to support sector strategy, enable knowledge exchange, encourage innovation, and facilitate interaction among the public, private and academic dimensions of the construction sector to showcase new ideas. In 2019, the fair was visited by 68,738 people from 135 countries, with 555 participating organizations from 12 different countries. These figures are expected to increase in 2020 depending on market dynamics in the domestic and international markets.
