XL Mimarlık+Mühendislik Wins Two Awards at The DNA Paris Design Awards 2020

The Paris-based DNA Paris Design Awards honours projects in the main categories of architecture, interior design, landscape design, product design and graphic design. XL Mimarlık+Mühendislik achieved the success of winning two separate awards this year in this prestigious competition with the "İrme Elektrik General Headquarters Building" and "WITHCO Coworking Space" projects. At The DNA Paris Design Awards, numerous projects applying from virtually every part of the world are evaluated by an international jury in the main categories of architecture, interior design, landscape design, product design and graphic design. In this competition, the Withco Coworking Space structure by XL Mimarlık+Mühendislik, led by architect Arda Işık and offering a holistic approach to architectural design through strategic planning, global design thinking and art, won First Prize in the "Architecture/Renovation" category, while the İrme Elektrik General Headquarters Building received an "Honorable Mention" award in the "Graphic Design/Colourful Project" category. The Withco Coworking Office Space in Izmir, configured as a shared office structure housed in a renovated warehouse building, won XL Mimarlık+Mühendislik first prize in the competition. The project, comprising 75 office rooms, 45 desk units, a 98-seat amphitheatre, meeting rooms, café, restaurant, entrepreneur accelerator campus area, YouTube studio and common areas, guides and encourages its users towards participation through its main design concept. The İrme Elektrik General Headquarters Building in Izmir brought an "Honorable Mention" award in the "Graphic Design/Colourful Project" category to XL Mimarlık+Mühendislik. This structure, formerly used as a warehouse building, has been successfully transformed by XL Mimarlık+Mühendislik design into a space where retail, wholesale, storage, office and hospitality areas work together with education and recreation areas. The İrme Elektrik General Headquarters Building will now operate as a high-standard general headquarters building with every component controlled by electrical, mechanical and automation systems.
