VI. Istanbul Carbon Summit Bringing Stakeholders Together on the Green Economy Path to Halt Global Warming of 1.5 Degrees Through Carbon Management
Climate Friends and Low-Carbon Heroes to Be Recognized
The VI. Istanbul Carbon Summit, to be held on 9 April 2019 under the patronage of Istanbul Technical University by the Association for Sustainable Production and Consumption (SÜT-D), will bring together government, civil society, business, academia and youth on the leading platform of the subject with the focus "Green Economy Path to Halt Global Warming of 1.5 Degrees Through Carbon Management."
Following the 24th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 24), delegates at the Summit will stand together for a climate-resilient Turkey ahead of the Paris Climate Agreement coming into force in 2020.
The Paris Climate Agreement, climate and carbon finance, climate change mitigation mechanisms, climate change support and financing programs, green climate fund, green bonds, carbon trading, mandatory and voluntary carbon markets will be presented to delegates by expert speakers under the green economy umbrella, while industrial carbon management successes and best practices in combating climate change will be presented by senior executives of leading companies from different sectors in the "Carbon Management and Industry" session.
"Little Carbon Heroes" will be the energy of the summit. At the Summit, climate friends and the achievements of institutions and individuals that have achieved carbon reduction will be honored with the presentation of the "Low-Carbon Hero Award." The V.
